Maintenance of tax provisions and participation in projects **WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:** We are seeking a **Tax** professional to review, calculate, account for, and reconcile **direct taxes** (e.g., IRPJ and CSLL), fulfill related ancillary obligations, ensure compliance with federal legislation, and maintain organized and up-to-date tax controls. **Responsibilities and Duties** **WHAT YOU WILL DO:** Review, calculate, account for, and reconcile direct taxes (e.g., IRPJ/CSLL), current and deferred, applying Presumed Profit and Real Profit methodologies, including suspension/reduction mechanisms and gross revenue and adjustments. * Review and submit ancillary obligations related to direct taxes: MIT, PERDCOMP, IBGE (specific registrations), DAIF, and ECF. * Support the Accounting Department regarding ECD. * Calculate interest on equity and prepare the corresponding minutes. * Support local consulting teams in preparing ECF records, Master File, and Local File (Transfer Pricing documentation). * Respond to internal or external audits. * Respond to tax inspections. * Calculate tax incentives (e.g., Exploration Profit, donations) and maintain organization and custody of supporting documentation. * Manage registration updates and monitor the E-CAC postal box at the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service. * Prepare and analyze External Reports (e.g., Effective Tax Rate, FIN 48, Tax Package, and Tax Return Reconciliation). * Maintain updated provisions for tax contingencies, in accordance with Brazilian corporate criteria and USGAAP. * Participate in projects (e.g., mapping, implementation, testing, and go-live monitoring). * Prepare and analyze Financial Statements and explanatory notes. * Support activities related to calculating royalties for trademarks and patents. **Requirements and Qualifications** **WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:** * Bachelor’s degree completed in Accounting Sciences, Administration, or Law; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; * Proficiency in integrated systems SAP and TOTVS (key-user); * Proficiency in Accounting (e.g., Financial Statement Analysis, reconciliation, accounting for taxes payable and recoverable, BRGAAP/IFRS, and USGAAP); * Intermediate or advanced English proficiency is desirable; * Availability to work 100% on-site **Additional Information** **Smurfit Westrock**, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging, operates in 40 countries with over 500 packaging conversion operations and 62 paper mills.
