Our client is a reputable leader in creating cutting\-edge utility software and technology, providing solutions that encompass consumer billing and finance as well as IT, GIS, advanced analytics, cybersecurity, and operations. *It is a position that ensures the quality and functionality of proprietary software on Windows/Linux environments. The role includes close collaboration with developers and stakeholders,* ***establishing automation best practices, identifying and resolving defects early through comprehensive automated testing, mentoring QA members, and playing a key role in the SDLC, following SAFe practices****. Currently, only* ***about 10% of automation is in place,*** *so a critical part of this role will be to expand and diversify the automation coverage. The engineer will be responsible for* ***building and enhancing automation frameworks, introducing new approaches, and improving overall testing efficiency****.* *The role will cover both ba****ckend and frontend testing (approximately 50/50****), with the focus potentially shifting depending on team priorities each quarter. The Senior SDET will also perform manual testing as needed, primarily to gain familiarity with the platform, though automation will remain the primary responsibility. In addition, the role requires the ability to assess the current testing state within teams, propose and report improvements directly to leadership, and mentor other QA engineers in adopting best practices.* REQUIREMENTS: * 5\+ years of software testing experience, including both manual and automated testing. * Advanced knowledge of C\# * Extensive experience with Playwright. * Expertise in setting up and creating a test framework from the ground up. * Deep understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD). * Knowledge of testing strategies, familiarity with manual testing. * Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. * Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments. * Knowledge of bug tracking and product management tools (e.g., JIRA). * Understanding how to check different application logs and provide detailed information while reporting bugs. * Detail\-oriented with a commitment to quality and documentation. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to effectively lead and collaborate with cross\-functional teams. * Ability to work independently and provide supervision to junior engineers. * Excellent time management skills with the ability to contribute in a fast\-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities. * Commitment to continuous learning and improvement. * Self\-starter with proven leadership and mentoring abilities. * Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis. NICE TO HAVE: * Experience in intermediate cloud testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collaborate with product owners and developers to formulate quality\-related requirements. * Lead and document test strategy for major features and deliverables. * Develop and oversee comprehensive test plans and test cases. * Ensure test plans cover non\-functional requirements. * Break down large projects into smaller components and oversee test planning. * Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks. * Discuss and introduce new test tools to increase overall automation coverage. * Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline. * Optimize test automation strategy and processes. * Work closely with the Product Owner and developers to understand the impact of code changes on respective modules and optimize the test strategy accordingly. * Participate in or lead Agile ceremonies. * Provide strategic insights and metrics\-based feedback on overall quality. * Document test results and maintain a repository of test cases and scripts. * Prepare and present detailed test reports. * Conduct post\-release audits to determine test effectiveness and escaped defects. * Mentor and support less experienced QA team members. * Provide training and knowledge\-sharing sessions across the department. * Improve testing processes and methodologies.
