**Responsibilities and duties** **A day in the life of a Maintenance Supervisor:**
* Daily assignment, guidance, and supervision of electro-electronic and mechanical maintenance activities—both preventive and corrective—for company machines and equipment, ensuring proper operation or driving improvements: reads, interprets, or sketches drawings and sketches to guide work execution; requests necessary internal and external resources (labor, equipment, available projects, etc.); monitors and releases completed services. Maintains records of performed activities for area performance evaluation, maintenance scheduling updates, expense allocation, and controls;
* Stays updated on market technological innovations and trends applicable to their field of expertise through specialized bibliographic research and market studies;
* Periodically prepares performance reports and demonstrative maps for supervisor evaluation, as well as updates equipment technical reports for control and audits. Participates in cross-departmental meetings discussing results, action plans, resource needs and support, technical assistance, new projects, and annual budget preparation—aiming to achieve improved outcomes within their scope of responsibility while managing area resources and leading the maintenance team;
* Annually develops the maintenance schedule for idle machines and equipment, aiming for effective service delivery with minimal disruption to production processes. Evaluates equipment performance from the prior period, reviews maintenance manuals’ recommendations, completes service sheets for tracking during the period, forecasts required resources and service timelines, defines priorities, and discusses the plan with the immediate supervisor for approval.
**Requirements and qualifications** **To embark on this journey, you must have:**
* Completed undergraduate degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or related fields;
* Knowledge of planning and monitoring preventive and predictive maintenance programs;
* Experience analyzing historical maintenance data;
* Knowledge of shutdown planning—including parts identification required for maintenance execution;
* Experience in improvement projects aimed at reducing downtime;
* Knowledge of monitoring and establishing KPIs;
* Familiarity with auditing and controlling technical reports;
* Knowledge of equipment failure analysis;
* Experience preparing annual preventive maintenance budgets;
