The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing mission-critical business applications in a Mainframe environment. Key Responsibilities: Development and Maintenance: Code, test, and debug complex COBOL Batch and Online programs according to technical and business specifications. Systems Analysis: Analyze business requirements and translate\-them into detailed technical specifications, proposing robust and efficient system solutions. **Responsibilities:** **Development and Maintenance:** Code, test, and debug complex COBOL Batch and Online programs according to technical and business specifications. **Systems Analysis:** Analyze business requirements, translating\-them into detailed technical specifications and proposing robust and efficient system solutions. **Technical Leadership:** Serve as the technical focal point for projects and initiatives, guiding and mentoring junior and mid-level developers. **Problem Resolution:** Investigate and resolve complex production incidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing permanent fixes. **Optimization and Performance:** Identify performance bottlenecks in COBOL programs, JCLs, and database accesses (DB2/VSAM), implementing improvements to optimize processing time and resource consumption. **Code Quality:** Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards, best practices, and delivery quality. **Batch Processing:** Create, maintain, and optimize Batch routines using JCL, schedulers (e.g., Control\-M, TWS), and utilities such as Sort, IDCAMS, etc. **Documentation:** Author and maintain up-to-date technical documentation (flowcharts, program specifications, operational manuals). **Required Qualifications:** **Experience:** Solid experience in COBOL development within a Mainframe environment. COBOL: Advanced proficiency in the COBOL language, including table processing, file handling, and subroutines. **Analytical Skills:** Excellent logical analysis, diagnostic, and complex problem-solving abilities. **Communication:** Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences (technical and business stakeholders). **Responsibilities:** \\ Collaborate with other developers on software projects; \\ Write clean, well-documented code that meets business and technical requirements; \\ Perform unit and integration testing to ensure software quality; \\ Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on existing software; \\ Work closely with other teams—including software quality and infrastructure engineering—to ensure platform consistency and scalability. **Additional Requirements, Tools, Skills, Courses, and Certifications:** \\ Proven experience with programming languages such as Java, C\+\+, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, C\#, or Perl. \\ Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or other database management systems. \\ Proficiency with frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue.JS, JSF, Node, or Spring. \\ Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. \\ Familiarity with agile methodologies, including SCRUM, Kanban, LEAN, or SAFe. \\ Experience in Design, with skills in tools and techniques such as Interview Protocols, Persona Creation, Empathy Mapping, or Blueprinting. \\ Knowledge of commonly used software tools such as Adobe XD, Jira, Wiki, Confluence, InVision, or Miro. \\ Skills in Interface Design, Coding, Interviews, and Team Leadership. \\ Preferred: Experience in the Financial Services industry, Technology specialization, or leadership experience. **MJV Benefits:** TotalPass\\Wellhub; ‍‍‍‍ Group life insurance; Meal/Voucher allowance; Health and dental plan \- Bradesco; Training initiatives: lectures, forums, knowledge-sharing sessions, and discussions related to our business.
