Basic Health Units (UBS) are services comprising the Primary Health Care Network, characterized by high coverage density and provision of health services in close proximity to users. Their activities focus on **health promotion**, **protection**, and **restoration**, as well as disease **prevention**, individually or collectively, coordinated with other health network services and intersectoral initiatives. UBS provide, by appointment, medical consultations in Pediatrics, Gynecology, and Internal Medicine, and multidisciplinary team services including Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Nutrition, and Psychology in some units. Additionally, procedures are offered (inhalations, injections, wound dressings, vaccinations, laboratory test collection, dental treatment, Pap smear collection), along with referrals to specialized services and provision of basic medications. **Responsibilities and Duties** Participate in the process of territorialization and mapping of the team’s operational area, identifying groups, families, and individuals exposed to risks—including occupational risks—and continuously updating this information, prioritizing situations requiring follow-up in local planning. Participate in team meetings. Provide health care to the assigned population, primarily at the Health Unit, but also at home and other community settings (e.g., schools, associations) when necessary. Implement comprehensive health actions according to local population health needs, as well as those established in local priorities and protocols. Ensure comprehensive care through health promotion, prevention of illnesses and injuries, curative interventions, spontaneous demand management, implementation of scheduled programs, and health surveillance. Conduct active case-finding and notification of compulsorily notifiable diseases and other locally significant conditions or events. Practice qualified listening to user needs across all actions, ensuring humanized service and enabling establishment of care bonds. Participate in planning and evaluating team actions using available data. Promote community mobilization and participation to strengthen social control. Ensure quality documentation of responsibilities in the information system. Perform other actions and activities defined according to local priorities. Comply with institutional and Municipal Health Secretariat routines, norms, and regulations. Plan, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate activities carried out by Nursing Technicians and Community Health Agents (CHAs). Contribute to and participate in the team’s continuing education activities. Act in accordance with ethical and legal principles established by the respective professional council.
