An AFIS\-Officer provides flight information service, alerting service, and weather observation service to aircraft prior to departure, on maneuvering areas at non\-controlled aerodromes, and to aircraft within traffic information zones and traffic information areas within the unit’s area of responsibility. Work tasks will include, among others: Providing flight information service, surveillance service, alerting service, and weather observation service within defined areas of responsibility in accordance with applicable general regulations and supplementary local instructions and regulations Completing refresher training to maintain authorizations In line with developments in aviation sectors affecting the unit’s operational fields, propose service-related changes and improvements deemed desirable or necessary to one’s supervisor Propose safety improvements in accordance with Avinor Flysikring AS’s safety management system procedures Reporting aviation accidents and incidents in accordance with Avinor Flysikring AS’s safety management system and applicable regulations Conducting theoretical and practical training for newly trained operational personnel and operational personnel undergoing transfer training Participating in project work and other professional tasks at the unit Qualification requirements Successfully completed approved AFIS training Successfully completed basic course for meteorological observation service Extended/comprehensive police certificate and approved background check Possess or be able to obtain relevant security clearance Possess or be able to obtain necessary authorizations related to the type of service to be performed Meet current medical fitness requirements for AFIS\-Officers Language proficiency in Norwegian and English according to current requirements for issuance of authorization certificates.
