Job Summary: A professional responsible for collecting, verifying, organizing, and analyzing surgical specimens and biopsies, ensuring material integrity and accuracy. Key Highlights: 1. Collection and organization of surgical specimens with focus on material integrity. 2. Performance of macroscopic examination and accurate documentation for laboratory analyses. 3. Support to pathologists and preparation of supplies for laboratory procedures. **Job Description:** ---------------------- \-Collect available surgical specimens in the macroscopy anteroom following the PEPS method to ensure integrity of the material to be analyzed. \-Verify registration data of the request and the specimen (material) to be analyzed, including patient's name, label number, material type, quantity, laterality, and proper fixation, to ensure record compliance. \-Maintain real-time system updates for specimen tracking to ensure traceability within the service. \-Organize cassettes into baskets for fixation in formalin and/or alcohol, as required, until routine processing, ensuring sample preservation. \-Perform macroscopic examination of surgical specimens and biopsies, recording color, shape, dimensions, weights, cuts, and sectioning in the system according to standard procedures to ensure analytical accuracy. \-Label cassettes with corresponding specimen identification labels to ensure correct sample association. \-Capture photographs of amputation specimens upon surgeon’s request to ensure appropriate procedural documentation. \-Perform trimming when necessary to ensure adequate sample preparation. \-Correctly identify waste containers and boxes to facilitate location during disposal, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. \-Assist pathologists with sectioning, imprints, and scrapings of slides for frozen procedures, ensuring process efficiency. \-Prepare and/or dilute formalin for use in the department and operating room, ensuring availability of required supplies. \-Separate bone tissue and monitor decalcification process using appropriate acid to ensure quality of analyzed material. \-Notify department manager regarding need for purchase and/or replenishment of chemical supplies to ensure continuity of laboratory processes. \-Maintain workplace area and equipment clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient environment. \-Collect specimens from the Surgical Center Sector (SCC), ensuring all materials required for analysis are properly received. \-Perform other related duties to fulfill departmental requirements. **Essential Requirements:** ------------------------------ * Technical qualification in Nursing, Laboratory Science, Biodiagnosis, Cytopathology, or related fields **Employment Type:** -------------------------- CLT **PwD (Persons with Disabilities):** -------- YES **Salary:** ------------ $3,837\.76 **Benefits:** --------------- * Health insurance; * Dental insurance; * Transportation allowance; * Food allowance; * Meal allowance; * Partnerships with educational institutions; * Wellhub (Gympass); * SESC partnership. **Work Location:** ---------------------- ASSOC DE COMBATE AO CANCER EM GOIAS **Working Hours:** ------------------------ 36h\|s
