We are **Arcotech**, the technology team of **Arco Educação**. We develop digital solutions enabling students, parents, and schools to collaborate toward more dynamic and effective learning.
Here, we bring together talents passionate about both technology and education. We know that, together, we can combine these two forces to elevate the learning experience. We aim to go beyond innovation—our purpose is to amplify education’s impact on people, which is what drives us.
Through learning, forecasting, and relationship solutions, we help schools become better, larger, and more engaging for students, educators, and families.

**Now that you’ve grasped a bit more of our essence, shall we talk about this opportunity?**
### **What challenges will you tackle with us?**
* Define the company’s data vision: lead how Arco uses data to decide, operate, and grow—from architecture choices to how the data function interacts with each business area.
* Make platform decisions when relevant—but without being tied to the tool: the central question is always impact.
* Connect data to business decisions: act as a bridge between the data function and leaders in Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Product—translating business questions into rigorous analyses and clearly quantifying trade-offs.
* Lead a scaling organization: manage a team of approximately 43 professionals through seven direct managers—calibrating evaluations, driving succession plans, balancing focus and autonomy across teams, and making difficult scaling-related decisions—including people decisions, reorganizations, and prioritization among competing demands.
* Democratize data via AI: drive an explicit agenda for business-area autonomy using AI tools—analytical copilots, agents that answer questions in natural language, assisted SQL generation, conversational access to metrics. The goal is to shift the company from "requesting reports from the data team" to "building one’s own insights—with curation."
* Operate the function as a product: establish quarterly OKRs and health metrics—reliability, cost, adoption, quality, and internal user satisfaction—balancing platform work, domain-specific support, and technical debt reduction.
* Elevate the team’s technical and analytical bar: participate in final interviews, calibrate seniority criteria, identify knowledge gaps, and decide on upskilling investments—making team quality the primary long-term lever.
* Prepare for scope expansion: co-create, with company leadership, the vision and structure to progressively incorporate Data Science, Data Analytics, and Business Analytics into the organization.
### **What we expect from you:**
* Proven technical depth in data: experience designing and operating scalable analytical solutions, with informed opinions on dimensional modeling, advanced SQL, modern data transformation, cloud-based analytical platforms, and orchestration architectures. Daily coding is not required today, but you must have coded enough to recognize a well-designed model upon seeing one.
* Sharp business acumen: proven ability to translate commercial, financial, and operational context into relevant analytical questions—with critical reading of metrics, contribution margin, unit economics, and strategic trade-offs. You read a dashboard like an operator—not a spectator.
* Advanced analytics repertoire: experience applying or overseeing statistical and modeling techniques beyond descriptive reporting—experimentation and A/B testing, causal analysis, predictive modeling, segmentation. You need not be a data scientist by training—but must understand enough to engage in peer-level technical discussions.
* Platform and democratization vision: familiarity with how mature data functions evolve—data contracts, semantic layers, observability, self-service, governance, and AI tools that expand autonomy. Ability to discern what works at scale versus what is hype.
* Experience leading scaled teams: prior experience managing sizable technical and analytical teams, with direct accountability for performance, senior hiring, and career development. Ability to balance team autonomy with organizational consistency.
* Executive communication in two languages: structured written communication in both Portuguese and English, capable of shifting seamlessly between technical detail, analytical interpretation, and strategic narrative for C-level audiences.
* Experience in complex environments: exposure to organizations with multiple business lines or broad technical domains, involving frequent prioritization decisions among competing demands.
Bonus points if you have:
* Prior contribution to building or scaling a data function
* Experience applying GenAI to data workflows—agents, copilots, SQL generation, conversational metric access
* Prior leadership of Data Science, Data Analytics, or Business Analytics functions
* Experience with analytical products面向 external customers
* Experience leading the transformation of a data function from a service model to a platform model
* Prior management of direct managers
