Description
How would you like to impact lives by joining a company that drives innovative solutions and technological advancement in Brazil?
If you share this purpose, check out our opportunity and join us: \#ComeWithUs \#BeAttus!
**But first, a very important point.**
Recognized by GPTW as one of the best companies to work for, Attus delivers intelligent solutions for judicial and advisory process management to State and Municipal Prosecutors’ Offices.
**About the position\_**
We are a technology company with the mission to **revolutionize public law practice** through innovative solutions that optimize processes and amplify results, and the vision to become the industry’s leading solution. Data is our customers’ most valuable asset — and we seek a **Database Analyst (DBA)** to ensure it remains always **available, consistent, performant**, and **secure.**
We seek a professional who goes beyond traditional administration: someone who treats the **data layer as a reliable service**, applying engineering, automation, and metrics (**DBRE – Database Reliability Engineering practices**) to sustain our critical databases. The primary focus is **PostgreSQL**, with additional involvement in **Oracle**. We expect autonomy to **monitor**, **evolve**, **automate**, and **govern** the entire database lifecycle — including **reviewing and approving changes (DDL/DML).**
**Is this role right for you?**
**Responsibilities and duties** **In this role, you will...**
Administer, maintain, and monitor all databases (PostgreSQL and Oracle), ensuring availability, consistency, and performance;
Manage installation, configuration, and patching of database instances;
Conduct version upgrades and major-version migrations, proactively addressing end-of-support (EOL) timelines — planning and executing database updates (e.g., PostgreSQL 14, currently supported) with minimal downtime and rollback plans;
Define and operate backup and recovery strategies (including PITR), validating restorations periodically;
Implement and maintain high availability, replication, and failover (RTO/RPO);
Perform capacity planning and manage database growth;
Review and approve structural (DDL) and data (DML) changes before production deployment;
Act as a quality gatekeeper during SQL and migration code reviews, blocking regressions before merging;
Ensure schema versioning and traceability of changes (e.g., Flyway, Liquibase) integrated into CI/CD;
Execute changes via GMUD, with rollback plans and controlled maintenance windows;
Define and monitor database SLI/SLOs and act based on Error Budget;
Enhance database observability (metrics, dashboards, alerts), detecting issues before customers do;
Respond to database incidents, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and prevention;
Perform tuning and optimization (execution plans, indexes, slow queries, parameters);
Guide development teams on best practices for data modeling and access;
Manage access controls and roles (principle of least privilege);
Apply encryption, masking, and auditing to protect sensitive data (LGPD compliance);
Ensure traceability and hardening of database environments;
Automate routine DBA tasks (provisioning, maintenance, verifications), reducing manual effort and human error;
Leverage AI to support operations — query analysis, diagnostics, optimization, and documentation;
Continuously pursue "automate before repeating" to evolve the data platform;
Apply database security best practices in production (access control, segregation, encryption);
Ensure traceability and auditing of changes and access;
Protect sensitive data and support compliance (LGPD, ISO 27001\);
Follow data protection policies during database handling and migrations.
