Compliance \- Surveillance Country: Brazil **About the Area:** The Market Control (Compliance) team is responsible for monitoring the Institutional Brokerage operations of Santander Corporate \& Investment Banking (SCIB), ensuring compliance with regulations, conduct standards, and market best practices. On a day-to-day basis, the team configures and evolves rules in the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (SMARTS) tool, analyzes alerts, investigates potential irregularities, reports cases, and promotes continuous improvements and internal awareness regarding risks and regulatory requirements. **In this role, you will:** * Monitor and analyze alerts generated by the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (SMARTS) tool; * Define, calibrate, propose, and test rules and parameters to detect atypical behaviors and potential irregularities; * Conduct investigations and assessments of potentially suspicious transactions, market abuses, and inappropriate practices, including documentation and reporting as applicable; * Propose continuous improvements to controls and monitoring processes, potentially incorporating new controls related to the scope of the Brokerage; * Train and raise awareness among internal departments regarding risks and regulatory requirements associated with market monitoring. **For this role, we value:** * Completed undergraduate degree; * Solid experience in market monitoring and with the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (SMARTS) tool; * In-depth knowledge of capital markets and financial institutions regulation; * Strong analytical capability to interpret trading patterns and identify potential irregularities; * Organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and strong communication skills for interaction with internal departments; * PQO Compliance certification. **Differentiators:** * Experience in audit/internal controls; * Knowledge of SQL, Python, or SAS for data extraction/analysis; * Advanced English and/or Spanish.
