If you fit this profile, join our team! ### **RESPONSIBILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES** * Perform reverse engineering of legacy Java applications, identifying business rules and technical dependencies; * Modernize Java systems, including migration from Java 8 to Java 17/21; * Update and adapt incompatible libraries, Maven dependencies, legacy versions of Spring Framework and Hibernate; * Resolve incompatibilities related to JDBC, modern JDK modularization (Project Jigsaw), and migration from *javax.* to *jakarta.*\*\*; * Update JasperReports / JRXML components; * Support technical architecture definition during Discovery phases; * Support building and maintaining pipelines in Azure DevOps; * Conduct integration and acceptance testing; * Support troubleshooting activities in Azure and Linux environments; * Produce and maintain technical documentation. ### **REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS** * Solid experience in Java development; * Experience in modernizing or maintaining legacy systems; Proven experience in Java version migration, especially Java 8 to Java 17/21; * Strong experience with Java 8\+, Java 17 or Java 21 (LTS) for legacy system modernization; * Knowledge of Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, and MVC) and legacy versions; * Experience with Hibernate/JPA, JSP/Servlet applications, and dependency management using Maven; * Experience in application modernization, including *javax.* to *jakarta.*\*\* migration, Project Jigsaw, and Java module management; * Knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and JDBC; * Experience with JasperReports / JRXML; * Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat, REST/SOAP integrations, and XML; * Experience with Azure Virtual Machines and Azure DevOps; * Experience analyzing legacy code, discovering business rules, and troubleshooting without documentation; * Advanced technical English reading skills and ability to participate in technical meetings; * Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and confidence when working with clients. ### **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** * Knowledge of WebSphere; * Experience with Docker; * Knowledge of AngularJS and Angular 7; * Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban); * Knowledge of source code versioning (Git); * Familiarity with demand management tools (Jira and Azure DevOps).
