We are building and evolving global-scale Card platforms with high criticality, security, and performance. We seek someone to lead squads and Staff Engineers, raising the bar of engineering and accelerating high-quality value delivery. Your day-to-day impact * People leadership: develop, engage, and retain talent (ICs and leaders) through 1:1s, feedback, career plans, and performance management. * Ensure sustainable delivery: plan and execute with squads, managing dependencies, priorities, and risks—maintaining predictability without compromising quality. * Technical leadership in partnership with Principal and Staff Engineers: guide architectural decisions (e.g., DDD, microservices, messaging, resilient APIs), promoting simplicity, scalability, and operability. * Operational excellence: strengthen observability, reliability, and security; respond to incidents and conduct postmortems, eliminating root causes. * Metrics-driven culture: use DORA Metrics and quality/production indicators to create cycles of continuous improvement and transparent business communication. * Global collaboration: work with teams in Brazil and abroad (daily use of Spanish; English is a plus). Requirements (Essential) * Proven experience as an Engineering Manager (or equivalent role) leading software engineering teams and developing people. * Consistent delivery track record in highly critical environments (e.g., financial services, payments, e-commerce, logistics, etc.). * Strong technical foundation in backend development and distributed system architecture (APIs, microservices, resilience, observability). * Experience with cloud and container technologies (AWS and Kubernetes or equivalents). * Experience elevating quality via automated testing and CI/CD pipelines. * Practical familiarity with DDD and using metrics (e.g., DORA) for continuous improvement. * Advanced English proficiency. Nice-to-Haves * Java, Quarkus, and/or Spring Boot in production. * Python experience in data ecosystems. * English for collaboration with global teams. * Experience leading Staff/Principal Engineers and defining engineering standards across multiple squads.
