As a **Ramp Assistant**, you will perform ramp handling operations (sorting, loading, and unloading) for aircraft safely, efficiently, and punctually, ensuring process efficiency and contributing to customers’ perception of the company’s services related to baggage and cargo transportation, as well as flight punctuality. Assist with aircraft arrivals and departures, and perform aircraft cleaning when required. **This position is exclusively for the Jericoacoara Airport (JJD)!** ------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Responsibilities and Duties** * Ensure aircraft safety during arrivals and departures; * Verify and monitor baggage and cargo labels; * Place and remove wheel chocks and cones on aircraft according to the Customer Manual or dnata’s MGO; * Sort baggage and cargo volumes into airport sorting areas by reading identification labels (with or without technological assistance), aiming to load them onto storage devices (carts and/or ULDs) for the correct flights; * Load baggage and cargo into aircraft holds following norms and procedures outlined in the MGO, including recommendations for special situations (fragile, hazardous, live animals, perishable items); * Unload baggage and cargo by reading volume identification labels and place them at designated locations (baggage reclaim carousels); * Segregate baggage and cargo during aircraft unloading to facilitate flight connections by reading volume identification labels; * Inspect and supervise baggage and cargo packaging to verify compliance with transport requirements, ensuring flight and handler safety; * Correctly handle and properly stow baggage and cargo in aircraft holds, observing internal restraint and hold height safety limits; * Unload wheelchairs or baby strollers and place them at designated locations; * Perform equipment marshalling during coupling procedures with aircraft to prevent fuselage collisions; * Complete aircraft handling within the timeframes established for each handling type and airport classification; * Conduct pre-use checks on non-motorized equipment to ensure operational safety and report equipment requiring repairs to the GSE Technical team; * Report any equipment malfunctions during operations to supervisors. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Strong interpersonal communication skills; * Analytical ability to assess situations; * Stress resilience; Physical requirements include broad and fine motor coordination, dexterity, upper and lower limb articulation, bipedal standing posture for performing tasks, trunk rotation and flexion, physical effort, and walking throughout the entire operational area. Sensory requirements include visual acuity for moving baggage from carousels to transport equipment, chocking, and aircraft loading/unloading with luggage and cargo; visual signaling around the aircraft being serviced; floor inspection and scanning to retrieve fallen objects; and auditory perception to identify audible signals from equipment and machinery on the tarmac.
