Description
Work as a Quality Engineer, leading test automation initiatives in distributed environments and microservice-based architectures. You will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end quality of APIs and services, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and supporting the continuous evolution of QA practices. You will also validate critical workflows, observability, and application stability in production.
**Responsibilities:**
— Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests (with focus on APIs and services/microservices).
— Specify and implement scenarios using BDD with Gherkin.
— Record, organize, and track scenarios, evidence, and results in Xray (Gherkin).
— Ensure coverage and effectiveness using black-box and white-box testing techniques.
— Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), ensuring recurring and reliable execution.
— Perform smoke testing and quickly identify critical failures.
— Validate synchronous and asynchronous workflows, including messaging scenarios (AWS SQS) where applicable.
— Collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end quality.
— Use Docker for provisioning test environments and executing automated pipelines.
— Support failure investigation using observability (traces/metrics/logs), when necessary.
**Requirements:**
— Solid experience with Playwright (automation).
— Experience with Gherkin (BDD) and using Xray with Gherkin.
— Deep understanding of APIs (payload validation, authentication, contracts, timeouts, retries, etc.).
— Experience with CI/CD and integrating tests into pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
— Knowledge of Docker and containerized environments.
— Familiarity with testing in distributed environments / microservices.
— Proficiency in black-box and white-box testing techniques.
— Hands-on experience with smoke testing.
— Programming (primarily JavaScript) — mandatory and disqualifying if not met.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
— Experience validating asynchronous workflows and messaging topics (SQS/DLQ/reprocessing).
— Basic familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS for troubleshooting executions (logs/health checks).
— Experience with observability (Dynatrace / OpenTelemetry / Grafana Loki) for diagnostics and reducing flaky tests.
— Experience with performance and security testing.
— Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
— Basic understanding of Terraform (to comprehend environments and infrastructure limitations).
