We are looking for a Senior GCP Data Engineer to strengthen our technology and data team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency of cloud environments. Your technical expertise, architectural vision, and collaborative abilities will be essential to drive strategic data and engineering initiatives in modern, cloud-native environments.
**Your key responsibilities:**
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Develop and manage cloud-native architectures using services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, and App Engine.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, with a focus on Terraform.
Monitor system performance, identify issues, and optimize cloud resources to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Implement and sustain CI/CD pipelines, supporting DevOps practices and automated delivery.
Ensure cloud environments comply with security best practices, compliance requirements, and governance standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including developers, data engineers, security specialists, and product managers—to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
Support on-premise-to-GCP migration initiatives, including architecture refactoring when required.
Document cloud architectures, processes, workflows, and configurations.
Stay current with trends, new services, and best practices within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
**Qualifications:**
Solid experience as a Cloud Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role focused on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Professional experience of 3 to 6+ years in cloud engineering and data platforms.
**Advanced knowledge of key GCP services, including:**
IAM
VPC
Cloud Storage
BigQuery
Pub/Sub
Cloud Functions
Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform).
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Solid networking knowledge, including VPNs, load balancing, and firewalls.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex environments.
Collaborative mindset with autonomy to operate effectively in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
Strong communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in Agile environments.
