To support this mission, Syngenta’s Research and Development (R\&D) team is seeking a Data Scientist in Brazil. This role will support strategic insights delivery and digital transformation in the field through complex data exploration and advanced modeling: **Responsibilities:** * Lead the exploration and integration of diverse data sources (including images and sensors) to extract value and critical insights for crop protection. * Develop and implement Machine Learning models and advanced statistical analyses to support product development and biology projects. * Collaborate closely with field scientists and technical managers to translate agronomic needs into high-impact data visualization and analytical solutions. * Drive digital transformation in R\&D by innovating data capture methodologies and monitoring emerging analytics trends for business application. * Ensure integration of internal and external data streams, promoting best practices in data science and evidence-based decision-making. **Required Qualifications:** * Strong academic background in Data Science (Master’s degree) or Doctorate (PhD) in Natural Sciences (Agronomy, Biology, or Chemistry). * Proficiency in data science, analysis, and modeling tools such as Python and/or R. * Proven experience developing Machine Learning models applied to biological or crop protection outcomes. * Knowledge of database query languages (SQL) and version control tools (Git). * Ability to analyze and extract knowledge from complex and noisy datasets. * Advanced/Fluent English and Portuguese (mandatory for technical communication and global collaboration). * Excellent communication skills to translate data concepts for both specialist and non-specialist audiences. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience with Computer Vision applied to agriculture. * Experience automating workflows and processes using Artificial Intelligence (AI). * Demonstrated ability to influence peers and managers toward data-driven research and analytical excellence. **Additional Information** **What We Offer** * A culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, fosters professional development, and seeks a healthy balance between professional and personal life to support team members.
