Job Summary: Laboratory assistant position for facility maintenance and management, focused on insect research and control, using equipment and completing spreadsheets. Key Highlights: 1. Conducts field and laboratory research with observation and documentation A third-party service company is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Toledo (South Zone). Manserv is a company specialized in maintenance and facility management services. With a qualified team, it provides integrated solutions for various sectors. **Responsibilities:** Ensure a healthy and consistent insect population for testing. Formulate artificial diets or prepare natural hosts (plants or grains). Maintain cages, climate-controlled rooms, and containers to prevent contamination by fungi or viruses. Transfer eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults to new containers according to developmental stage. Assist in testing how different products affect insects. Collect insects in the field. Assist in research conducted in greenhouses. Manually place a specific number of insects onto treated plants or surfaces. Observe and record mortality, feeding rates, or flight behavior following treatment application. Operate equipment such as electric stoves, blenders, precision scales, etc. Complete spreadsheets with accurate records of dates, temperatures, and humidity levels in rearing rooms, as well as observed test results. Sort and separate species collected in the field or produced in the laboratory. Organize and receive inventory, including control of supplies such as agar, vitamins for diets, and disposable materials. Previous experience as Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Intern, Laboratory Assistant, or Laboratory Analyst may indicate suitability for some of the activities in this role.
