The Role The Educational Counselor will be responsible for supporting and mediating the holistic development of students, working closely with the pedagogical coordination team, teachers, families, and the student community. Key Responsibilities * **Student Support and Counseling:** * Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students to identify learning difficulties, socioemotional challenges, and behavioral issues. * Implement initiatives and projects aimed at developing socioemotional skills, citizenship, and career guidance. * **Pedagogical and Behavioral Support:** * Mediate conflicts among students and between students and teachers, seeking constructive solutions. * Collaborate with the pedagogical team in designing and implementing action plans to improve academic performance and school coexistence. * **Family Partnership:** * Establish effective and welcoming communication with parents and guardians, conducting consultations and meetings to share student progress and jointly develop strategies. * **Recordkeeping and Documentation:** * Maintain up-to-date records of all counseling sessions and follow-up activities. * Actively participate in team meetings and class councils. Required Qualifications * **Academic Background:** Bachelor’s degree in **Pedagogy** (with specialization in Educational Counseling, where applicable), **Psychology**, or related fields. * **Knowledge:** Familiarity with current educational policies (e.g., BNCC) and understanding of child and adolescent development. Desired Skills and Competencies * Excellent **communication** and **active listening**. * Ability to **mediate conflicts** and solve problems. * **Empathy**, proactivity, and professional ethics. * Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
