Job Summary: Support continuous improvement activities at the plant, executing tasks on the shop floor and sustaining operational standards to connect operations and processes. Key Highlights: 1. Focus on continuous improvement, productivity, quality, and cost Support continuous improvement routines at the plant by contributing to shop-floor execution, sustaining operational standards, and bridging operations, processes, and improvement initiatives. This is an entry-level position in the Processes career path and may represent the first step toward progression to a Process Technician role. Supports production areas in identifying opportunities, addressing deviations, and standardizing best practices—performing data collection, documentation, updates, and action follow-up. Works under guidance and supervision of the Process Specialist (and, where applicable, area leadership), executing and supporting implementation of low-complexity improvement initiatives in day-to-day operations. **Key Activities and Responsibilities** * Execute and support daily continuous improvement routines (daily management, PDCA, Kaizen, Gemba Walks), performing action logging, updates, and follow-up under guidance. * Support the Process Specialist in data collection and organization, process mapping, basic analyses, and material preparation; implement changes only after prior validation when process changes are involved. * Participate in implementing low-complexity improvements (and support higher-complexity initiatives as required), focusing on productivity, quality, and cost—supporting operational team mobilization and cross-functional interfaces (Maintenance, Quality, PCP, Engineering) from diagnosis through result stabilization, under direction. * Support implementation and sustainability of operational standards (SOP/IT, LUP, OPL, visual instructions), contributing to document updates, controls, and adherence verification—with leadership validation where applicable. * Support structured projects (DMAIC/Lean Six Sigma), contributing to data collection and validation, evidence organization, line testing, and implementation of countermeasures defined by the Process Specialist and/or leadership, with control plan monitoring. * Monitor and update process and performance controls and indicators (e.g., OEE, scrap, rework, downtime, yield, plan adherence), supporting trend analysis, flagging deviations, escalating per guidance, and contributing to action plan updates. * Support delivery of training and capability-building for operational teams on Lean standards and tools—preparing materials and delivering on-the-job guidance under supervision, where applicable. * Conduct basic loss and waste assessments (time, movement, waiting, defects, etc.), documenting evidence and proposing improvements for evaluation and prioritization—supporting implementation post-validation by leadership and/or the Process Specialist. * Support sustainability of APEX, Lean, and 6S programs by executing routines (audits, records, evidence organization, action plans, Kaizen events), ensuring discipline and standardization across areas. * Contribute to compliance with the Code of Ethics, internal regulations, policies, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) requirements, product safety, and other applicable corporate responsibilities. * Immediately report and address any deviations from standards, norms, or quality and safety requirements per defined procedures, ensuring traceability of actions. * Report recurring deviations and significant impacts related to safety, quality, cost, or delivery—and structural process improvement opportunities—to the Process Specialist (and/or area leadership). * Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering or related field; * Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. * Experience and/or familiarity with internal and external audits (participation and support). * Intermediate Office suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). * Excel skills (analysis, pivot tables, charts); macro knowledge is a plus. * Basic SAP knowledge. * Basic to intermediate knowledge of Minitab, Power BI, and/or Tableau is desirable. * Basic to intermediate knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools. * Basic knowledge of Six Sigma tools (DMAIC) is desirable. * Familiarity with project management (e.g., scheduling, action tracking, reporting), in a supporting capacity. * Intermediate (English) – Basic to intermediate (Spanish) * Availability to work administrative shifts with flexible hours. * Flexibility to travel between Avient business units across the country.
