Multicultural environment with frequent interaction in English **TownSq** is looking for an **Engineering Manager** with a strong interest in **people development**, continuous process improvement, and partnership with Product and Design to deliver high-impact solutions for our customers. This person will be responsible for leading an engineering team, supporting the professional growth of team members, ensuring the health of agile processes, and contributing to the success of delivered initiatives. It is a strategic role with **high visibility**, close collaboration with stakeholders, and direct impact on the evolution of both products and people. You will have the opportunity to work in a **multicultural environment**, with frequent interaction in English and collaboration with distributed teams. ### **Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities** * Actively participate in the **product trio**, taking ownership of the engineering discipline and collaborating with Product and Design to build valuable solutions and user experiences. * Manage the **career development of engineering team members**, including creating individual development plans (IDPs), delivering continuous feedback, conducting performance reviews, and holding regular 1:1 meetings. * Support the engineering team during the **discovery phase of new initiatives**, orchestrating technical leadership involvement, monitoring progress, and removing blockers when necessary. * Be responsible for the team’s **agility**, promoting continuous improvement, facilitating ceremonies, and tracking performance metrics. * Collaborate with the team during **critical production incidents**, supporting problem resolution and participating in root cause analysis. * Communicate\-clearly, frequently, and structurally with the team and stakeholders, aligning expectations, sharing context, and facilitating decision-making. * Contribute to technical and functional discussions in partnership with technical leaders, supporting decisions aligned with business objectives. * Promote and strengthen **TownSq’s culture and values**, serving as a behavioral role model, fostering collaboration, and demonstrating care for people. ### **What We Expect From You** * Prior experience in **software engineering**, with exposure to one or more of the following areas: web development, mobile development, backend development, system architecture, software quality, design patterns, SaaS, and cloud services. * Experience in **managing agile teams** and leading people. * Experience with **career development**, structured feedback, and performance tracking. * Ability to **translate business objectives into technical objectives**, guiding the team through this decomposition. * Strong **communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills**. * Technical English proficiency for conversations (you will participate in meetings and interactions in English). * Organization, proactivity, and a strong sense of ownership over initiatives under your responsibility. * Availability to occasionally work onsite at our office in **Porto Alegre**. ### **Characteristics We Value** * Open-minded, collaborative, and empathetic mindset. * Genuine interest in **developing people** and strengthening teams. * Ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders. * Mindset of continuous learning and constant improvement. * Balance between technical vision, people, and business. ### **Our Benefits** * Meal/food allowance via **Ifood Benefícios** card: **R$ 770.00/month**. * Internet allowance: **R$ 50.00/month**. * National healthcare and dental plan (**UNIMED**) with option to include dependents. * **StarBem**: online medical assistance (psychologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists). * Childcare allowance. * **Creditas**: payroll-deducted loans with low interest rates. * **GymPass** for your health and wellness. * Birthday **Day Off**. * **Fluency Academy**: discount and potential full subsidy for the Poliglota course (8 languages). * Equipment kit to support your work! ### **Want to Learn More About Us?** Visit our website and check our Glassdoor reviews.
