Description

Job Summary: A professional to operate mechanical lathes, sharpen tools, prepare machines, and perform basic maintenance on medium-complexity parts, following technical drawings and standards. Key Highlights: 1. Operating mechanical lathes for machining various parts 2. Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and standards 3. Maintaining and cleaning machines and equipment **Responsibilities:** Sharpen cutting tools appropriately to meet machining requirements. Prepare mechanical lathes by adjusting feed rate and rotation speed, adapting or replacing tools and fixtures, and securing workpieces on the machine, aligning them using reference points. Select and identify materials and tools for part machining. Operate mechanical lathes to machine various medium-complexity parts according to drawings, sketches, or samples; initiate operations by engaging mechanisms to bring cutting tools into contact with the workpiece and advance them along it as programmed. Read and interpret standards, procedures, specifications, drawings, measuring instruments, and/or general instructions regarding assigned tasks. Perform self-monitoring for each operation/task, observing established technical parameters, evaluation frequency, and expected results as described in operational standards, assessing them visually and/or using measuring equipment, and recording results when necessary. Monitor and perform minor maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of machines, equipment, and/or the workplace to ensure optimal functionality and usability.
