As a Boiler Operator, you will be a key contributor to the success of our team, playing a vital role where your skills and dedication will make the difference in achieving exceptional results. Responsibilities: * Operate utility equipment, including biomass, oil, or natural gas (GNI) boilers, thermal deaerators, bag filters, carbon filters, and water softeners; * Operate supply and material handling systems, such as electric hoists and forklifts; * Monitor instrumentation for measuring energy-related parameters, including pressure, flow rate, temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, and level; * Conduct daily inspections and measurements according to control plans, recording and reporting wood receipt, inventory and consumption, steam volume generated, and water consumed for report generation; * Identify abnormal operating conditions of systems, inform relevant departments, and implement necessary corrective actions; * Know and execute operational maneuvers, lockouts, and bypasses during abnormal safety situations of systems, ensuring safe process control and safeguarding assets and facilities; * Understand equipment safety systems and alarms, identify causes of loss of control, and take appropriate actions to ensure asset and facility safety; * Operate equipment and systems under your responsibility only after completion of supervised training. During the training period, you must perform tasks exclusively under full-time legal supervision until training concludes; * Perform the boiler startup checklist, verifying items including boiler water level, water solution pumps, water makeup pumps, gas pressure, water color in the sight glass, chemical solution quantity, audible alarm, and water tank level. * Perform the boiler operation startup checklist, verifying items including chimney temperature, bottom blowdown, manual sight glass blowdown, pressure gauge reading, safety valves, water solution pumps, and water tank level. * Maintain your work area clean and organized, ensuring proper custody, preservation, maintenance, and cleaning of client-owned equipment under your responsibility, as well as tools and materials used at the worksite; * Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for task execution and comply with quality, safety, and environmental procedures/standards; * Participate in safety training programs, including initial training and updates as specified and recommended by technical standards and internal procedures; * Safeguard company and client property; * Perform other related duties inherent to the position.
