Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a Financial Analyst to provide strategic and operational support for the financial and administrative routines of the Creative Schools Institute. Key Highlights: 1. Strategic and operational support for financial and administrative routines. 2. Ensuring organization, execution, and monitoring of financial processes. 3. Support in preparing reports for funders and partners. **ABOUT THE CREATIVE SCHOOLS INSTITUTE (CSI)** The **Creative Schools** is a nonprofit civil society organization whose mission is to strengthen public education networks and train and engage educators in adopting pedagogical approaches that promote students’ holistic development—such as Creative Learning—thereby creating school environments where students want to be and learn. Launched in 2021 as an educational program, **Creative Schools** has already reached over 1 million students and 58,000 teachers across 16 education networks in all regions of Brazil. We work in partnership with governments, school administrators, and teachers to adapt this concept to the Brazilian context, incorporating the principles of Creative Learning into the curriculum and the public education system—from educational policy formulation to teacher training. Our approach is structured around three main levers of change: * Support for Education Secretariats: assisting in developing structures to systematically transform schools and create durable, sustainable public policies, consolidating lessons learned from implementation. * Professional development and pedagogical tools: training educators to design learning experiences that encourage student agency. * Engagement of schools and the school community: engaging the school community, establishing and nurturing communities of practice, and training local multipliers to foster a self-sustaining, enduring movement within our areas of operation. Our distinctive approach lies in rethinking education based on how students learn, thereby maximizing how much they learn. We invest in methodologies that place students at the center of the learning process, valuing curiosity, authorship, and engagement as pathways to more meaningful learning outcomes. **About the Position** We seek a Financial Analyst to provide strategic and operational support for the financial and administrative routines of the **Creative Schools Institute**. This person will be responsible for ensuring the organization, execution, and monitoring of essential financial processes required for the organization’s operations, while also supporting communication with accounting consultants, document management, and report preparation for funders and institutional partners. **Main Responsibilities** * Receive, analyze, and process payment requests, including service contracts, procurement of goods, advances, and reimbursements. * Liaise with accounting consultants to verify tax withholdings and fiscal compliance of received invoices. * Enter invoices and financial documents into the internal system according to established procedures. * Properly organize and archive all supporting documentation (requests, receipts, approvals, and records). * Execute organizational financial routines, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. * Ensure maintenance and updating of financial documentation in accordance with the institute’s guidelines. * Support monthly monitoring of the institutional budget. * Contribute to preparing internal financial reports and reports for funders by gathering data and supporting documentation. * Assist in organizing documents related to contracting service providers or acquiring goods for the Institute. * Organize administrative and financial documentation related to contracts and procurement. * Support contract and agreed deliverables management, monitoring deadlines and records. * Liaise with accounting consultants regarding labor and administrative matters. * Support issuance and review of trial balances and annual financial statements, as required by partners and funders. * Support management of the Institute’s assets, maintaining updated records. * Propose suggestions to improve internal financial policies and routines. * Support, when needed, updating systems, spreadsheets, and other tasks for the Institutional Development team. **Requirements** * Completed undergraduate degree in Administration, Accounting, Economics, Management, or related fields. * Prior experience in financial and administrative routines. * Familiarity with spreadsheets, financial/administrative systems, and digital tools. * Strong understanding of standardized procedures and internal controls. **Behavioral Competencies** * Organization and attention to detail. * Clear communication and ability to structure information. * Openness to listening and respecting diverse viewpoints. * Curiosity and initiative to learn new tools and processes. * Agility in addressing requests and responsibility in delivering results. * Proactivity in contributing to continuous improvement.
