Clinical Nurse

Receive and hand over the shift together with the nursing team and monitor it; Conduct shift handover at the patient's bedside, documenting all data and events occurring during the shift; Implement the Nursing Care Systematization (NCS) for inpatients under their responsibility; Calculate patients’ complexity scores; Monitor work schedules, vacations, and days off; Develop daily activity schedules; Guide and supervise the team’s adherence to international patient safety goals; Participate in patient care by performing the NCS daily and monitoring care delivered by the team; Monitor the treatment plan and document performed care and treatments; assess inpatients in their unit and request medical evaluation whenever necessary; Verify and confirm correct completion of medical and nursing prescriptions in the patient’s medical record and prescription forms; Carefully verify completion of patient care forms, always performing double-checks with peer nurses and also supporting technical and auxiliary staff on the team. Carry out duties in accordance with Hospital Infection Control Service (HICS) guidelines regarding internal patient and worker safety standards; Monitor equipment functionality and promptly report maintenance needs to immediate supervision; Guide visitors and companions according to current regulations and routines, always calmly and courteously; Consistently observe required cleanliness and asepsis conditions for infection prevention; Comply with Nursing Care Systematization, institutional protocols and routines, as well as professional ethical principles; Participate in the implementation process of new work tools; Align the team with the institution’s Nursing Care Model, always respecting directives from the Nursing Supervisor and Clinical Manager; Plan, develop, guide, and oversee unit operations; Collaborate in institutional disease prevention and health promotion programs, if applicable; Interact with members of the multidisciplinary team; conduct visits to all patients under their responsibility; Control seals on emergency carts and kits; At the end of the shift, verify completion of medical and nursing prescriptions for patients under their responsibility across comprehensive care; Record in the nurses’ incident logbook the professionals who worked during the shift in respective departments, noting days off, absences, medical certificates, and other incidents occurring during the shift; Perform complex nursing procedures on patients under their responsibility or upon request; Encourage the team to adopt a holistic view of the patient, aiming for comprehensive and individualized care; Hold monthly team meetings and report identified training needs to the Nursing Supervisor; Attend monthly meetings—or whenever summoned—with the Clinical Manager, Nursing Supervisor, or Technical Nursing Coordinator; Participate in institutional committees when requested; Verify and monitor examinations scheduled during the shift; Maintain an organized unit, including patient medical records and clipboards; Perform daily review of the nursing technicians’ incident logbook; Supervise recording in sector-specific logbooks; Conduct performance evaluations of their team; Comply with institutional policies, standards, and regulations; Mediate conflicts within the nursing team; Conduct semiannual performance evaluations of nursing technicians—or whenever requested.
