Our daily routine is driven by a culture of knowledge management, people development, and a work environment that nurtures respectful, diverse relationships aligned with our core values: * We are protagonists * We take pride in belonging * We work collaboratively and passionately * We value the past, live in the present, and build the future * We act responsibly * We celebrate human relationships **Check out some key challenges of this role:** * Work in an agile team to develop requirements for web applications, writing code and unit tests following sound programming practices and design patterns; * Participate in designing technical solutions, collaborating with product and quality teams. **Responsibilities and Duties** **Product** * Understand functional and non-functional requirements to be added, modified, or removed from Shift software; * Design, document, and implement APIs according to Shift’s established standards; * Contribute to technical solution design alongside leadership and software architects; * Estimate the size of software to be developed or maintained and plan deliverables—latter done jointly with the Agile Coach; * Implement software requirements in Shift products using official and approved development tools, considering their impact on business rules inherent to the system and application; * Maintain technical documentation for software, keeping it up to date; * Debug source code to identify and resolve defects in Shift solutions; * Perform unit, component, and integration testing to deliver software products and solutions meeting Shift’s defined defect thresholds; * Respond to technical queries from internal teams, proposing process improvements, negotiating alternative solutions, and recommending adoption of new methods and techniques to ensure delivery of solutions addressing their needs. **Processes** * Collaborate with business teams to clarify doubts and, where appropriate, propose adjustments to functional requirements; * Collaborate with architecture teams to clarify doubts and, where appropriate, propose adjustments to non-functional requirements; * Guide junior web development analysts, trainees, and interns in performing their duties, providing training, guidance, and delivery oversight; * Log hours spent on any activity related to software solution development throughout the entire software development lifecycle; * Inform leadership about impediments arising during solution development; * Continuously review and refine personal workflows and methodologies, suggesting more effective methodologies and procedures; * Actively contribute to other processes within the Shift product development lifecycle; * On demand, review and analyze code written by peers of equal or lower seniority using code review techniques; * Participate in code inspection meetings, with voting rights for approving or rejecting software artifacts/components; * On demand, engage in pair programming to optimize development processes and mentor peers; * Identify root causes of issues compromising Shift code or software quality using appropriate tools and techniques; * Support the Agile Coach in ensuring Shift product deliveries meet defined timelines, quality, and scope parameters; * When requested, support immediate leadership during recruitment and selection processes—including interviews—and provide technical evaluations of candidates; * Actively participate in creating and maintaining the coding checklist, design pattern guidelines, knowledge base maintenance and systematic review, and evaluation/review of software development lifecycle processes; * Support development supervision in implementing continuous improvement processes; * Provide immediate leadership with relevant information for technical feedback and performance evaluation; * Support immediate leadership in planning team technical training when such needs or knowledge gaps are identified. * Adopt and integrate artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools into the software development lifecycle, focusing on automation of repetitive tasks, assisted code generation, quality analysis, and technical decision support. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree completed in Information Technology-related fields; * Experience in software development or maintenance; * Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 16+; * Back-end: REST APIs with Java 11+, SQL; * Database modeling: Relational; * UML diagramming: Reading proficiency; * Code versioning with GIT; * Experience developing with Artificial Intelligence tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot). **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**: * Quarkus framework; * Docker and Docker Compose; * Experience in systems analysis. **Additional Information** Some important *soft skills*: Focus, Results- and Quality-oriented mindset, Customer orientation, Planning and Organization, and Teamwork!
