Blade maintenance and waste management Responsible for operating saws (band saws, circular saws, or multi-blade saws) and log breakdown equipment. The objective is to transform raw material into sawn timber products (boards, beams, slats) with maximum utilization and dimensional accuracy. * Equipment Operation: Operate main band saw, log carriers, edgers, and trimmers. * Log Classification: Visually assess logs to determine optimal cutting angles and minimize waste. * Dimension Adjustment: Configure guides and blades to meet dimensions specified in work orders. * Blade Maintenance: Monitor saw sharpness and perform blade replacement (band change) whenever efficiency declines or breakage risk increases. * Waste Management: Monitor the flow of edgings, sawdust, and chips to disposal or biomass areas. * Critical Safety: Ensure isolation of hazardous areas and verify that machine guards are always properly positioned.
