Prior to **HGP**, any healthcare need—whether for simple or complex conditions, especially surgical cases—required residents of these municipalities to travel long distances to hospitals in greater São Paulo. The Hospital directly serves the populations of Taboão da Serra and Embu, totaling approximately half a million people, and since its inauguration, its operations have aligned with **SPDM**’s mission: delivering excellent public healthcare services with social responsibility and adherence to the principles of Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS).
