Description:
To succeed in this position, the following are important:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Agronomy, or related fields;
* Experience working in a microbiological laboratory for the development of bioinputs;
* Knowledge of microbiological and physicochemical analytical techniques and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP);
* Intermediate English proficiency;
* Willingness to reside in Uberaba/MG.
Desired Qualifications:
* Postgraduate degree in microbiological processes or related fields;
* Experience in laboratory routines related to the production, analysis, or validation of bioinputs;
* Knowledge of analytical techniques such as chromatography and molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA identification by qPCR or dPCR.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
* Conducting applied studies and research for the development of new bioinputs and microorganism-based biotechnological processes relevant to agriculture.
* Planning, executing, and monitoring laboratory experiments involving cultures, strain maintenance, microbiological assays, and physicochemical analyses of processes and products.
* Assisting in the development and optimization of fermentative processes for filamentous and bacterial microorganisms, adjusting parameters such as pH, temperature, agitation, oxygenation, and medium composition to improve productivity and stability.
* Conducting fermentations in bench-scale bioreactors, ensuring proper execution, systematic data recording, and adherence to R&D timelines.
* Analyzing experimental data, interpreting results, identifying patterns or deviations, and proposing improvements, following GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and ALCOA+ principles to ensure integrity, traceability, accuracy, and organization of experimental records.
* Supporting the development and validation of microbiological methods, evaluating viability, purity, and quality of raw materials, processes, and products.
* Contributing to strain screening studies and preliminary evaluation of compounds or metabolites, collaborating in the identification of promising materials for the R&D pipeline.
* Conducting laboratory assays according to established experimental plans, including preparation, execution, and organized documentation of steps, ensuring data quality and traceability.
* Organizing and documenting assay-generated data through reports, protocols, and complete, structured experimental records.
* Collaborating with Production, Quality, Scale-up, and Process departments to ensure efficient transition of developed technologies from bench scale to pilot and industrial scale.
* Providing suggestions and improvements to laboratory methods, processes, and practices, supporting continuous evolution of R&D activities.
* Maintaining an organized laboratory, ensuring safety best practices, hygiene, sterilization, appropriate waste disposal, and correct operation of equipment.
* Monitoring technical literature, market trends in bioinputs, and applicable regulations, contributing to scientific updating and compliance of R&D processes.
