Responsibilities and Activities of a Collections and Accounts Receivable Intern
The intern supports the office's financial routines, assisting with receivables control, delinquency monitoring, and customer service.
1\. Accounts Receivable Control
Assist in recording and updating receipts in the accounting/financial system
Verify paid bank slips and amounts received via bank
Organize the flow of monthly fees and accounting honoraria
Support the generation of open accounts reports
2\. Support in the Collection Process for Delinquent Clients
Identify clients with overdue payments
Assist in sending payment reminders (e\-mail, WhatsApp, or phone)
Conduct friendly collections and follow up on pending items
Record contacts and follow-ups in spreadsheets or internal systems
3\. Issuance and Organization of Bank Slips and Documents
Support the issuance of bank slips and duplicate copies
Send bank slips and receipts to clients monthly
Organize documents related to contracts and payments
Archive payment receipts and collection history
4\. Customer Service and Communication
Provide initial support regarding billing and due date inquiries
Guide clients on available payment methods
Escalate more complex cases to the finance officer or manager
