SR Maintenance Engineer (Preferred for women and PCDs)

Join Nexa and become part of a mining company that moves with the world! **Responsibilities and attributions** * Ensure maintenance processes comply with corporate guidelines, including technical management of inspections and oversight/monitoring of maintenance orders. * Conduct critical analyses of key maintenance KPIs and propose action plans to address identified deviations. * Be responsible for identifying the root causes of emergency corrective actions/equipment shutdowns, as per D\-1 report, defining actions to correct the failed process. * Conduct thorough and robust functional failure analyses, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions. * Review and keep systematic maintenance plans up to date, with minimum biennial revisions or whenever relevant changes or needs arise. * Ensure the accuracy and integrity of technical lists (BOM), parameters, tools, and maintenance frequencies. * Validate preventive maintenance procedures developed internally or by third parties, ensuring technical standardization. * Guarantee standardization and include work instructions for each activity within systematic maintenance OMs. * Be responsible for defining failure modes and evaluating/reviewing functional criticality classification (ABC) and material classification (XYZ), according to corporate criteria and guidelines. * Perform necessary technical and financial analyses (cost vs. risk), in accordance with policy, to support spare parts purchasing decisions and ensure compliance. * Specify equipment, develop and monitor OPEX/improvement projects. * Conduct variability analyses, promote process standardization initiatives, and carry out maintenance cost reduction studies. * Evaluate the fulfillment of planning and scheduling functions, ensuring quality execution and adherence to OMs for critical equipment. * Act as a technical reference for maintenance supervisors, inspectors, and planners. * Participate in commissioning and technical handover of new projects (Sustaining or Engineering). * Develop and review technical specifications and scopes for service contracts, as well as provide technical clarifications during procurement processes. * Develop new strategic suppliers and materials, ensuring quality and competitiveness. * Maintain the preventive maintenance program for all site assets, ensuring traceability and complete technical history. * Monitor internal and external repairs of critical assets and compliance with technical warranties. * Monitor the maintenance budget (OPEX), identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reduction. * Provide technical support in the preparation and analysis of investments (CAPEX) related to sustaining and new equipment (60-month plan). * Propose annual maintenance targets and monitor their execution. * Develop and implement technical training and capacity building programs for maintenance teams. * Promote the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across technical areas. **Requirements and qualifications** **Required qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related fields). * Professional with 4 or more years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer in mining, metallurgy, and/or steel plants. * Solid experience in industrial maintenance, including failure analysis, PCM, optimization of maintenance plans, and indicator management. * Advanced knowledge of SAP PM, Power BI, MS Office, and maintenance management tools. * Knowledge of risk management, legal requirements, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 55001\. **Desirable qualifications** * Postgraduate degree in Maintenance Engineering will be considered an advantage. * Knowledge of methodologies such as RCM, FMEA, FMECA, RCA, FTA, 5W2H, statistical analyses, and predictive techniques. * Experience in continuous improvement and reliability projects. **Key Competencies** * Systemic and analytical mindset. * Focus on results and reduction of variability. * Ownership mentality and investigative attitude. * Ability to coordinate across technical areas, procurement, processes, and projects. * Technical leadership and influence without authority. * Commitment to safety, quality, and operational sustainability. **Additional Information** ***Nexa believes in fostering a diverse environment where everyone feels comfortable and welcome to be themselves.*** We are one of the world's largest zinc producers!
