




**Summary** The Advanced Materials Business Unit comprises a multidisciplinary team of qualified and market-recognized professionals and features extensive laboratory infrastructure for conducting R&D&I, technological services, and testing/analysis. Its scope spans from mathematical, physical, and phenomenological modeling to pilot-scale experimentation. Concepts of Industry 4.0 or Advanced Manufacturing are consistently applied to the projects developed. Additionally, this unit’s competencies include developing technological pathways for producing secondary raw materials from waste and residues, primarily grounded in the circular economy concept. The unit’s teams and laboratory infrastructure are organized into four laboratories: Corrosion and Protection Laboratory (LCP), Cellulose, Paper and Packaging Laboratory (LCPE), Lightweight Structures Laboratory (LEL), and Metallurgical Processes Laboratory (LPM). Within this context, the current opportunity aims to fill a Senior Researcher position requiring experience in project structuring, negotiations with public and private sectors, international projects and partnerships, processing and characterization of structural and nanostructured composites, and leadership and management of R&D projects, to be based at the Lightweight Structures Laboratory (LEL) of IPT in São José dos Campos. **Job Responsibilities:** Structuring R&D projects involving public-private partnerships; Negotiating with companies and composite material suppliers (national and international); Executing and managing Research and Development (R&D&I) projects; Conducting laboratory tests and technological services, as well as data processing and interpretation; Preparing work plans for R&D&I project proposals; Writing technical reports, technical-scientific texts, scientific articles, and presentations for conferences and technical meetings; Organizing and preparing in-person and online meetings to monitor projects with partners. **Job Requirements:** **Education:** Doctorate degree in Materials Engineering and Science or related fields. **Essential Qualifications:** Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on polymeric composites; Minimum 3 years’ experience in R&D&I projects in the field of polymeric composites; Leadership of R&D projects and activity planning according to schedule; Experience in processing polymeric composites incorporating carbon nanotubes/graphene via melt mixing and solution mixing; Experience in processing polymeric composites reinforced with continuous fibers using infusion, hot compression molding, manual lamination, and autoclave curing techniques; Experience in thermal characterization of polymeric materials using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and thermomechanical analysis (TMA); Experience in static and dynamic mechanical characterization of polymers and polymeric composites, including tensile, flexural, fatigue, and fracture toughness testing, among others; Experience in morphological characterization of polymeric composites via optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM); **Desirable Qualifications:** Knowledge of graphene technology and related materials; Processing of polymeric composites incorporating carbon nanotubes and graphene via infusion, hot compression molding, manual lamination, autoclave curing, melt mixing, and solution mixing; Experience in mechanical, thermal, and electrical characterization of polymeric composites with and without nanofillers; Familiarity with non-destructive testing techniques such as ultrasonics; **Specific Courses and/or Skills:** Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA or SolidWorks); **English Language:** Advanced level (speaking, writing, and reading). **Salary Range:** To be negotiated Work Location: IPT Rod.
