Job Summary: Operate forklifts to store, transport, and retrieve goods; inspect loads; schedule material handling operations; and ensure safe equipment operation and warehouse organization. Dental plan and life insurance Job Description: * Operate forklifts to store, transport, or retrieve goods; * Respond promptly to work orders; * Visually inspect loading and unloading operations; * Verify contents, weight, and volume of loads; * Select appropriate material handling equipment based on load type; * Prepare storage materials (strapping, pallets, padding); * Schedule sequence of material handling operations; * Use forklift accessories according to load type; * Load cargo as scheduled and in accordance with equipment capacity; * Restock goods per warehouse organization standards and/or as required for order picking; * Monitor equipment operating conditions during operation; * Control equipment speed and direction of movement; * Unload and store scheduled items. Maintain a clean working environment; * Check product expiration dates; * Inspect cargo storage locations; * Designate areas for cargo handling operations; * Identify handled cargo; * Interpret packaging symbols; * Store cargo according to product expiration dates; * Identify cargo characteristics for transportation and storage; * Consult manufacturers' instructions for equipment use and maintenance; * Inspect basic operational components of material handling equipment; * Test equipment functionality; * Identify malfunctions and damages; * Self-assess physical and mental fitness prior to performing work; * Identify unsafe conditions.
