Description: WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU: * Technical qualification in Occupational Safety; * Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Engineering is a plus; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; * Intermediate English proficiency is considered a plus; * Knowledge of Regulatory Standards (NR); * Completion of Civil Firefighter Course is considered a plus. Responsible for developing and executing fire equipment inspection/maintenance plans, training and drill schedules in accordance with SW and insurer requirements. Responsible for retention of associated documentation. * Responsible for delivering assigned occupational safety training, campaigns, and guidance—including onboarding of employees and contractors, procedure-specific training, SW occupational safety programs and tools, development and delivery of safety talks, and other activities as required or needed. Support the Training & Development (T&D) team in occupational safety training requests. * Support Operations, Maintenance, and Contractor teams in issuing work permits, Task Safety Analysis (TSA), Preliminary Risk Analysis (PRA), and other safety risk analysis requests. Monitor and guide contractor activities (maintenance and projects), including verification and management of submitted safety documentation per unit requirements and established processes. * In collaboration with the Occupational Safety Coordinator, establish and maintain occupational safety programs, procedures, instructions, analyses, assessments, and actions as required and in compliance with Legal Requirements and SW’s Health and Safety Management System—including Occupational Risk Management (ORM), Risk Management Program (RMP), Occupational Hygiene Assessments, Task Safety Analyses (TSA), Risk Analyses, Procedures, Instructions, Work Orders, Lockout/Tagout Procedures (LUPs), safety signage, and others. * Conduct regular visits/onsite presence in operational areas for equipment inspections and operational monitoring, identifying hazards, proposing solutions, directing and tracking corrective actions, and advising personnel on incident prevention, proper use of PPE, and other health and safety topics. * Support the unit in managing employee-reported Safety Concerns, assisting in opening, closing, and directing related actions as necessary. * Participate in incident investigations and learning teams alongside area leads and CIPA representatives, and monitor/track implementation of agreed actions. * Maintain ongoing communication with CIPA, providing guidance and support in carrying out its mandated activities, including the electoral process. * Ensure administrative management of occupational safety documentation, guaranteeing retention and preservation of all documents generated during your work in compliance with legal requirements and Smurfit WestRock procedures. * Responsible for adherence to programs related to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality, and for promoting and encouraging your team/colleagues to actively engage in these areas.
