Job Description
The Repair Assistant, focused on bench operations and mechanical fitting, will support the preparation, adjustment, and finishing of aerospace components under supervision of more experienced professionals.
Responsibilities include using hand tools and precision measuring instruments, performing electrochemical marking, operating hydraulic presses, and working with abrasives for general stock removal and finishing.
The professional will also be responsible for cleaning, protecting, preserving, storing, and transporting in-process and finished components, as well as maintaining equipment and tools to ensure safety and quality across all activities.
**Responsibilities:**
Perform bench operations and mechanical fitting of aerospace components.
Perform stock removal, deburring, sanding, polishing, and finishing using abrasives.
Perform electrochemical marking per applicable procedures and documents.
Operate hydraulic press for installation and replacement of components per technical instructions.
Handle and organize hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Perform cleaning, protection, preservation, and storage of in-process and finished components.
Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, tools, and work area.
Verify all process parameters to ensure quality per applicable documents.
Complete technical instructions, process records, and other required documentation as needed. Interpret mechanical engineering drawings and perform industrial measurements.
Work in compliance with established safety protocols and quality standards.
**Required Qualifications:**
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical course in industrial mechanics.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Organizational sense and effective communication skills.
Availability to work Monday through Saturday, on shifts (2nd and 3rd shifts), under a 4x4 schedule.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Prior experience in programs such as Apprentice Program.
Experience in industrial measurements and completing technical instructions.
Proven experience in bench operations, mechanical fitting, abrasive-based stock removal, and general finishing.
