Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities You will be responsible for substituting the Second Officer in his absence or incapacity and for conducting navigation in accordance with the Captain’s established directives. Additionally, you will assist the Captain during all maneuvers and be responsible for controlling materials related to damage control, firefighting, and the infirmary. You will also be in charge of auxiliary vessels, rescue craft, their respective equipment, and launching devices. It is essential that you implement, follow, and promote the company’s Safety, Health, and Environment (SMS) policy and procedures in all tasks performed. Furthermore, you will supervise and carry out all deck-related activities—including cargo loading, stowage, securing, and unloading; handling towing equipment; and anchoring operations—strictly adhering to safe work practices and complying with the Captain’s and/or Second Officer’s orders and instructions.
