It is part of the Engineer’s routine to plan, monitor, and execute activities aimed at meeting key departmental KPIs, such as zero lost-time incidents, water consumption management, development of energy efficiency and electrification projects. Among management responsibilities, the Engineer must annually plan the budget for major departmental expenses—including government environmental fees—and conduct monthly forecast tracking. Scope of activities includes planning, execution, and follow-up of internal, external (e.g., insurance company), and corporate audits; liaison with public agencies such as the Federal and Civil Police for controlled chemical product licensing, CETESB for environmental licensing purposes, and the Fire Department regarding the company’s fire protection system design. In this role, the Engineer will attend local and global meetings and lead internal meetings with the team and interfacing departments including Manufacturing, HR, Medical, Engineering, and Maintenance, as well as deliver awareness training and new programs established by the company or internally. The Engineer is responsible for supporting incident investigations, preparing local and global reports, and ensuring implementation of corrective and preventive actions; supporting Sustainability, CIPA/SIPATMA, Ergonomics, and other related functions. The Engineer must support the Plant Manager in site routines and leadership and employee awareness initiatives concerning EHS matters. Supporting labor proceedings and expert assessments, preparing hazard, unhealthiness, and AET – Ergonomic Work Analysis reports, maintaining up-to-date PGR – Risk Management Program, and reviewing PPPs – Occupational Profile Records are also within scope. Promoting employee participation in EHS programs and sustainable projects, as well as continuously seeking qualified suppliers to address EHS requirements, is expected. The Engineer must support functional areas in implementing and complying with Continuous Improvement procedures and programs (e.g., Lean Manufacturing activities) such as Zero Energy, Machine and Equipment Protection, and Well-being, among others.
