They will also guide teams on best practices and conduct internal audits to identify improvement opportunities and correct potential failures. **Responsibilities and Duties** **WHAT YOU WILL DO:** * Implement the Annual Financial Monitoring Plan (Annual Risk Assessment), in accordance with Group policy (FMP Policy), including planning of financial monitoring visits. * Support plants in implementing and maintaining internal controls, ensuring standardization and adherence to internal norms and policies. * Continuously monitor internal controls, identifying and supporting timely correction of non-conformities. * Support internal and external audits by providing evidence and clarifications regarding applied controls. * Plan and execute cross-audits to evaluate site performance and identify improvement opportunities. * Perform ad\-hoc analyses and periodic reviews to verify the regularity and compliance of customers and suppliers, using systems such as Amber Road and other corporate tools. * Support business areas in reviewing and developing internal policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate standards. * Review SOX control narratives, ensuring clarity and adherence to audit requirements. * Conduct training and guidance on best practices for internal controls, reinforcing a culture of compliance and integrity. * Support annual testing of automated controls in legacy systems, SAP, and other information systems. * Evaluate risk matrices, design mitigating controls, and monitor implementation of audit recommendations. * Collaborate cross-functionally on Compliance and Ethics topics, supporting conflict-of-interest processes and internal investigations. * Develop data analyses, metrics, and analytical consolidations to support management, exception identification, and managerial reporting. **Requirements and Qualifications** **WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:** * Bachelor’s degree completed in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Law, or Engineering. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel. * SAP knowledge is desirable. * Advanced English proficiency. * Additional training or courses in Internal Controls, SOX, COSO, Auditing, Compliance, IT Controls, or Data Analysis are desirable. * Ability to map and review processes. * Capacity to adapt to change and operate effectively in dynamic environments. **Additional Information** **Smurfit Westrock**, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging, operates in 40 countries with over 500 packaging conversion operations and 62 paper mills.
