




Job Summary: Perform nursing procedures and care for patients undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, ensuring quality and safety. Key Highlights: 1. Individualized care in ICUs and clinical wards Perform nursing procedures and care for patients of the Institution undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, involving technical-level activities aimed at ensuring the quality of care delivered and patient safety. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Perform nursing procedures and care for critically ill patients of the Institution undergoing clinical or surgical treatment; * Implement preventive measures for identified risks based on the Institution’s established protocols; * Record relevant information regarding patients under one’s responsibility to ensure safety and continuity of treatment; * Participate in the surgical process, including verifying the surgical schedule, inspecting the operating room, checking surgical kits, receiving and escorting the patient to the operating table, implementing pre\-operative precautions, setting up the operating table, assisting during surgery itself, transferring the patient to the post\-anesthesia recovery room, and preparing the operating room for the next surgery; * Organize the anesthesia process in operating rooms, including arranging materials, anesthetic medications and equipment, transferring the patient from the stretcher to the operating table, assisting during anesthesia administration, and participating in anesthesia procedures for patients scheduled for cardiac surgery—which requires specialized care, time, equipment, devices and medications; * Provide individualized care to critically ill patients admitted to ICUs or clinical wards; * Collect and/or dispatch examinations requested by physicians; * Verify medical and nursing prescriptions, affixing signature and official stamp; * Assist in performing medical procedures such as: chest drainage, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, intracath insertion, etc., assembling specific materials for these procedures to stabilize hemodynamic parameters; * Instruct visitors during visiting hours regarding hand hygiene and its importance in preventing infection among patients under one’s care; * Monitor material and medication expenditures, as well as their expiration dates, aiming to prevent waste; * Assist nurses and/or physicians in performing invasive procedures and provide required materials; * Work in critical areas, delivering care to severely ill patients and those using invasive devices; * Check and replenish supplies in ICU bed panels, such as gauze, catheters, suction equipment, sterile gloves, Ambu bags, etc.; * Inspect trays assembled for emergency procedures, dating them and restocking missing items; * Inspect the emergency cart and test the defibrillator daily; * Perform other duties as needed or at the discretion of the unit nurse; * Admit patients to the unit together with the nurse, receiving the admission form and medical record, escorting the patient to the assigned bed and identifying the patient—and their medication bin; * Participate in shift handovers bed\-to\-bed, communicating key information to colleagues alongside the entire nursing team; * Participate in planning nursing care; * Actively participate in the risk management program, preventing errors and harm to patients under one’s care; in case of evidence thereof, immediately notify the responsible nurse, implement interventions to minimize risk, and document it in the prescription; * Perform all nursing actions except those exclusively reserved for registered nurses, per the General Nursing Procedures Manual; * Participate in discharge planning for patients, jointly with the nurse providing guidance to patients and companions regarding necessary care and devices. * Verify ideal conditions for patient referral to pre\-operative surgical preparation; promptly respond to verbal requests or call bell notifications from inpatients; * Safely administer medications, preventing patient harm; knowing High\-Alert Medications; * Maintain unit cleanliness and report non\-conformities to the hygiene service; * Maintain and preserve unit equipment and materials; report equipment needs or removal due to obsolescence to the Equipment Central; * Keep patient medical records and documents orderly; * Notify the nurse regarding equipment repairs, maintenance requirements, or missing equipment in the unit; * Participate in defining the daily individual material requisition for patients. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Completed technical nursing course; * Surgical Instrumentation course; * Active COREN registration; * Intermediate level computer and Microsoft Office knowledge. **SPDM** \- Paulista Association for the Development of Medicine is a non\-profit civil association of philanthropic nature, recognized as being of federal, state and municipal public utility—respectively by Decrees No. 57\.925 dated 03/04/1966, No. 40\.103 dated 05/17/1962, and No. 8\.911 dated 07/30/1970. It is a low\-complexity Emergency Care Unit belonging to the Municipal Government of São Paulo, designed to address spontaneous demand and equipped with 54 observation beds across specialties including General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, and Pediatrics—managed by **SPDM** – Paulista Association for the Development of Medicine, through a solid partnership with the Municipal Government, aligned with guiding principles of Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS), ensuring comprehensive, high\-quality hospital care
