We are collaborating with a leading Portuguese company in the **retail** sector, operating in Portugal and Spain. Within this context, we are seeking someone with **energy, responsibility, and motivation** to assume the role of **DBA DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR ORACLE / POSTGRESQL / MONGODB**, as part of one of the initiatives we are currently executing for this client. In this project, the person joining the team will work **remotely** alongside colleagues from FCamara and the client based in Portugal. **Responsibilities and Duties** This person will be responsible for **ensuring that the databases supporting our client’s applications operate securely, continuously, and with high performance.** **THIS POSITION MAY REQUIRE AVAILABILITY FOR ON-CALL DUTIES OUTSIDE REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS (INCLUDING OVERNIGHT SHIFTS), WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS.** Key activities in this role include: * **Implementing operational processes and proactively recommending improvements aligned with industry best practices;** * **Capacity Planning: Monitoring disk space, memory, and CPU usage, and forecasting future hardware/cloud resource requirements (e.g., tablespace management, storage sizing);** * **Configuring and overseeing database backup and recovery processes (including simulations);** * **Application-Level Security: Managing user accounts, roles, privileges, and database-level access control for specific application components;** * **Query Analysis: Using specialized tools (e.g., Explain Plan, AWR, or database-native analyzers) to diagnose slow queries and propose code-level corrections;** * **Change Deployment and Management: Managing deployment of database schema changes and code updates alongside application releases—typically via CI/CD pipelines;** * **System-Level Security: Managing OS and network security for database servers, including system-level user/instance access and authentication;** * **Collaborating with developers and architects on logical and physical design of schemas, tables, indexes, and views to meet application requirements;** * **Improving monitoring methods and error prevention (e.g., diagnostic or corrective automation);** * **Participating in and delivering project-related activities within this scope.** **Requirements and Qualifications** For this position, we seek someone with **at least 3 years of experience** in similar roles. You are the right candidate if you meet the following **mandatory requirements**: * **Practical experience with enterprise databases such as Oracle and/or SQL (on-premises, cloud);** * **Practical experience with open-source database engines such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB (on-premises, cloud);** * **Lifecycle management of database engine software and related components;** * **Backup and Recovery (DR/HA): Designing, implementing, and testing backup and recovery strategies (RTO/RPO), and configuring high-availability/disaster-recovery solutions (e.g., Data Guard, Always On, replication);** * **Experience working with software development teams to define relational models, database structures, views, and queries;** * **Troubleshooting operational issues and performing root cause analysis;** * **Availability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation;** We will view favorably candidates who also meet these **preferred qualifications**: * **Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field;** **Beyond technical expertise, we also expect a collaborative mindset and strong teamwork orientation:** * Ability to understand business requirements and technical solutions * Strong communication skills * Critical thinking and focus on continuous improvement * Strong delivery orientation with commitment to deadlines and objectives **Additional Information** This is a **fully remote position**, working with client teams based in **Portugal**, and is **exclusively for candidates residing in Brazil** (in any city or state).
