Description

**CONTEXT AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION:** AVSI Brazil is a non-profit civil society organization, founded in 2007, which works to improve the living conditions of people in situations of vulnerability. It operates in partnership with international cooperation actors, public sector entities, and the private sector. Linked to the AVSI Foundation—an Italian NGO active in Brazil since the 1980s—its mission is to promote people’s protagonism in their own development, as well as that of their families and communities. It implements social projects based on an integral and solidarity-based development methodology, oriented toward autonomy and human dignity. In recent years, Venezuela has experienced a severe crisis, resulting in social vulnerability and a humanitarian emergency manifested in intense migration into Brazilian territory. In 2018, in response to this demand, the Federal Government launched Operation Welcome, whose objective is to ensure assistance to Venezuelan refugees and migrants. The operation comprises a series of strategies—including documentation regularization, immunization, reception, and voluntary relocation—of these vulnerable individuals from municipalities in Roraima to other cities across Brazil. AVSI Brazil is part of the federal response to the Venezuelan humanitarian emergency under Operation Welcome. Currently, in partnership with UNHCR, AVSI Brazil operates in three reception centers (shelters) for Venezuelan refugees and migrants, as well as other initiatives in the cities of Boa Vista, Roraima, and Brasília, Federal District. **SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION:** Support proactive identification and monitoring of persons with specific needs, keeping updated the indicators of highest incidence in this sector and ensuring timely engagement of relevant stakeholders; Support community-based protection activities and work closely with other shelter sectors and functions to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities arising contrary to minimum protection standards.
