The role involves collaboration with traditional communities, fieldwork, and direct contribution to projects integrating biodiversity conservation, climate action, and community development. **Position Summary:** We are seeking a professional to serve as a **Field Assistant**, providing support for social activities and community engagement related to the implementation of REDD\+ projects in Indigenous territories. The professional will work directly in the field in the Humaitá region of Amazonas State, contributing to ongoing dialogue with communities, organizing local meetings, and recording and systematizing information related to project activities. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:** * Assist in organizing and conducting community meetings in villages across the Humaitá region of Amazonas State related to project activities. * Facilitate dialogue between the project team and local communities, respecting cultural norms and community organizational structures. * Record and organize minutes from community meetings. * Organize and systematize information collected during the project’s social activities. * Monitor community-raised needs, questions, and follow-up actions identified during meetings. * Support communication and clarification efforts regarding the project among communities. * Assist in logistical coordination of field activities. **Minimum Qualifications:** * Technical training or undergraduate degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Social Sciences, or related fields. * Prior experience in fieldwork, social projects, or working with traditional or Indigenous communities. * Ability to organize and document information gathered from meetings and participatory activities. * Willingness to conduct fieldwork in remote areas of the Amazon. **Desirable Qualifications:** * Experience working in Indigenous territories or traditional communities. * Familiarity with participatory processes, community mobilization, or meeting facilitation. * Experience in socio-environmental projects or conservation initiatives. * Knowledge of sociocultural dynamics in the Amazon. **Skills:** * Effective communication and respectful conduct when interacting with the Wildlife Works team and Indigenous populations, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, empathy, and respect. * Cultural sensitivity and ability to operate effectively in intercultural contexts. * Organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting information and preparing field reports. * Active listening and dialogue facilitation abilities. * Proactivity and accountability in carrying out assigned tasks. * Adaptability to remote environments and operational field conditions. **Other Requirements:** * Availability for frequent travel and extended stays in the field according to the project’s activity schedule. * Willingness to work in hard-to-reach areas, including overland, riverine, and forest trail transportation. * Brazilian driver’s license, category B. * Ability to adapt to field operational conditions, including basic infrastructure. * *At Wildlife Works, we deeply value diversity and believe in the richness generated by collaborative efforts grounded in multiple perspectives, life trajectories, and contexts.
