Promoting patients' health and well-being The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting assessments, diagnoses, and interventions for patients with communication, voice, hearing, and swallowing disorders, working under supervision and contributing to the promotion of patients' health and well-being. The role is performed in clinical settings, applying specific techniques and monitoring treatment progress. Responsibilities also include counseling patients and their families, as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, integrated care that supports rehabilitation and improves the quality of life of those served. * Conduct speech-language pathology assessments using specialized instruments and protocols to identify impairments in communication, voice, hearing, and swallowing, ensuring diagnostic accuracy. * Apply speech-language pathology intervention and rehabilitation techniques according to diagnosis, adapting strategies to each patient's individual needs—including exercises, counseling, and use of assistive devices when necessary. * Monitor patient progress throughout treatment, adjusting interventions based on treatment response and documenting all activities thoroughly and systematically. * Provide counseling to patients, families, and healthcare teams regarding communication strategies, hearing care, vocal hygiene, and disorder prevention, promoting awareness and self-care. * Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing relevant clinical information to treatment planning and implementation, and collaborating in the development of integrated care plans. * Conduct health education activities, promoting community- and workplace-based initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of auditory, vocal, and communication health. * Maintain up-to-date records of medical charts, reports, and other clinical documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with professional ethical and legal standards. * Participate in training sessions, courses, and professional development opportunities to enhance technical and methodological knowledge, supporting continuous service improvement. * Assist in organizing and maintaining the clinical space, ensuring appropriate conditions for service delivery and patient well-being. * Collaborate with the healthcare team in implementing preventive, screening, and health promotion programs for auditory and communication health, proactively engaging with the community.
