Perform nursing procedures and patient care at the Institution for patients undergoing clinical and/or surgical treatment, carrying out technical-level activities aimed at ensuring the quality of care provided and patient safety. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Perform nursing procedures and patient care for critically ill patients at the Institution undergoing clinical or surgical treatment; * Implement preventive measures for identified risks, based on protocols established by the Institution; * Record relevant information regarding patients under one’s responsibility, ensuring safety and continuity of treatment; * Participate in the surgical process, including verifying the surgical schedule, checking the operating room, inspecting surgical kits, receiving and escorting the patient to the operating table, implementing preoperative precautions, setting up the operating table, assisting during surgery itself, transferring the patient to the post-anesthetic recovery room, and preparing the operating room for the next surgery; * Organize the anesthesia process in operating rooms, including arranging materials, anesthetic medications, and necessary equipment; transferring the patient from the stretcher to the operating table; assisting during anesthesia administration; and participating in the anesthesia process for patients scheduled for cardiac surgery—which requires specialized care, time, equipment, devices, and medications; * Provide individualized care to critically ill patients admitted to ICUs or clinical wards; * Collect and/or dispatch exams requested by physicians; * Verify medical and nursing prescriptions, signing and stamping them accordingly; * Assist in performing medical procedures such as chest drainage, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, intracath insertion, etc., assembling specific materials required for each procedure to stabilize hemodynamic parameters; * Instruct visitors during visiting hours on hand hygiene and its importance in preventing infection among patients under one’s care; * Monitor material and medication expenditures as well as expiration dates to prevent waste; * Assist nurses and/or physicians in performing invasive procedures and provide necessary materials; * Work in critical areas, providing care to patients with greater severity and those using invasive devices; * Check and replenish supplies on ICU bed panels, such as gauze, catheters, suction equipment, sterile gloves, Ambu bags, etc.; * Verify emergency procedure trays, date them, and restock missing items; * Inspect the emergency cart and test the defibrillator daily; * Perform other duties as needed or at the discretion of the unit nurse; * Admit patients to the unit together with the nurse, receiving the admission form and medical record, escorting the patient to the assigned bed, identifying the patient and their medication bin; * Participate in shift handover, bed-to-bed, communicating important information to colleagues alongside the entire nursing team; * Participate in planning nursing care; * Actively participate in the risk management program, preventing errors and harm to patients under one’s care; and upon identification of such risks, immediately notify the responsible nurse, implement interventions to minimize risk, and document the action in the prescription; * Carry out all nursing actions except those exclusively reserved for registered nurses, according to the General Procedures Manual of the Nursing Division; * Participate in discharge planning for patients, jointly with the nurse, providing guidance to patients and their companions regarding care and devices, if necessary. * Verify ideal conditions for patient referral in the preoperative phase of surgeries; promptly respond to verbal requests or call bell notifications from inpatients; * Safely administer medications, preventing harm to patients; and be knowledgeable about High-Alert Medications; * Ensure and maintain unit cleanliness, reporting non-conformities in this process to the hygiene service; * Ensure and maintain the integrity of unit equipment and materials, notifying the equipment center regarding needs or removal in case of obsolescence; * Keep patient medical records and documents organized; * Notify the nurse regarding repairs, maintenance requirements, or missing equipment in the unit; * Participate in defining the daily order of individual patient supplies. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Completed technical nursing course; * Active COREN registration; * Intermediate-level computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Municipal Hospital Dr. José de Carvalho Florence provides 100% free SUS services. **History** Municipal Hospital Dr. José de Carvalho Florence began operations in 1978 with the inauguration of its Emergency Department, then named “Dr. Carlino Rossi Emergency Department.” Due to increasing demand and the need for continuity of care provided in the Emergency Department, the Surgical Center was inaugurated in 1988, and in 1990 the first ward was built to support the Emergency Department, enabling the unit’s first clinical and surgical admissions. In 1995, the hospital underwent further expansion with construction of two additional wards and the Obstetric Center. In 2004, another expansion added yet another ward to the hospital complex. This unit was named “Dr. Campoy Clinic.” In 2005, the latest surgical clinic was inaugurated, and the following year—the final stage of the master plan—saw the opening of the Outpatient Clinic. Also in that same year, specifically on July 25, 2006, the SPDM – Paulista Association for the Development of Medicine assumed management of the Municipal Hospital Dr. José de Carvalho Florence, with the objective of operationalizing and executing the unit’s health activities and services.
