Job Summary: Responsible for the technical development of ceramic formulations, process optimization, and quality assurance for tile products. Key Highlights: 1. Technical development and optimization of ceramic formulations. 2. Integrated collaboration across multiple departments and resolution of technical issues. 3. Cost and process optimization, ensuring compliance with standards. Work on the technical development of engobes, glazes, and enamels in close coordination with manufacturing plants, Marketing, and DETEC, serving as the technical reference for problem resolution and for the approval of new technologies and manufacturing techniques. Plan and conduct industrial trials to ensure quality compliance and strict adherence to technical standards (ISO 13006 / NBR 13818\) and prevention of ceramic defects. Focus on cost and process optimization, ensuring delivery of products fully meeting required technical and aesthetic specifications. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Develop and adjust formulations for engobes, glazes, and enamels. * Approve new raw materials and technologies (frits, pigments, rheological additives, and preservatives), evaluating technical feasibility, stability, and impact on the production chain. * Translate Marketing’s aesthetic concepts into technical solutions, ensuring new designs are feasible within the constraints of manufacturing equipment. * Plan, monitor, and validate industrial trials. * Diagnose and resolve process-related problems and deviations. * Ensure product compliance with current technical standards (ISO 13006 and NBR 13818\). * Identify and prevent ceramic defects by addressing root causes. * Provide specialized technical support to manufacturing plants. * Execute value engineering projects aimed at optimizing and reducing costs of active formulations without compromising quality or aesthetics. * Collaborate on improving/maintaining departmental performance indicators. * Interact with suppliers for co-development of solutions. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed technical education in Chemistry or Ceramics; * Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Production Engineering, or related fields; * Minimum 4 years of experience in the ceramic industry; * In-depth knowledge of glazing and decoration processes; * Preferred: familiarity with technical standards for ceramic tiles, colorimetry, and quality tools. **Join Mohawk Brasil: Where innovation and tradition build the future!** With 65 years of history, we are part of Mohawk Group, the global leader in flooring and wall coverings.
