An operational nursing professional to assist the Registered Nurse in planning, supervising activities, and providing direct care to critically ill patients, as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Assist the Registered Nurse in planning, scheduling, guiding, and supervising nursing care activities;
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients;
Implement the Nursing Care Systematization Plan;
Accompany patient transportation under supervision;
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team;
Perform nursing care actions under supervision, observing and documenting the patient's signs and symptoms, performing dressings, fluid balance monitoring, administering medications, and other tasks;
Perform pathology-specific monitoring for each patient;
Collect specimens for laboratory tests;
Assist in inventory control of materials, equipment, and medications;
Operate electrodiagnostic devices;
Cooperate with the healthcare team in delivering care, teaching, research, and health education activities;
Prepare patients pre- and post-operatively for surgeries and childbirth;
Assist in emergency and urgent care;
Circulate in surgical and obstetric rooms, preparing the room and surgical instruments, and assisting in surgeries when required;
Perform procedures related to admission, discharge, transfer, and death;
Maintain an organized work unit, ensuring its preservation and reporting any issues to the Registered Nurse;
Assist in routine nursing care tasks;
Collaborate in developing educational programs, including training auxiliary nursing staff;
Inspect and monitor equipment and facilities in the unit, reporting issues to the responsible person;
Assist the Registered Nurse in preventing and controlling communicable diseases, participating in epidemiological surveillance programs and systematic hospital infection control;
Assist the Registered Nurse in systematically preventing and controlling physical injuries that may occur to patients during healthcare delivery;
Perform tasks related to medical-dental surgical interventions, handing instruments to the surgeon and performing other support duties;
Qualitatively and quantitatively verify surgical instruments after surgery completion;
Guide the washing, drying, and sterilization of surgical instruments;
Permanently ensure the functional status of surgical room equipment, proposing acquisition of new equipment to replace non-functional units;
Prepare patients for examinations, advising them on examination requirements;
Record performed electrocardiograms, making relevant annotations;
Perform tasks pertinent to the area of practice using computer equipment and software;
Perform other tasks essential to sector operations, inherent to the role;
Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition, keeping the workplace orderly, clean, and well-preserved;
Comply with occupational safety and health regulations.
