Preparing samples for X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis **Job Mission** Responsible for performing routine X-ray laboratory activities, including sample preparation for X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD), following established operational procedures and safety standards. **Job Responsibilities** * Clean laboratory materials and glassware; label bottles and glassware. * Dry, weigh, and flux samples; prepare pellets using fusion and pressed powder methods; arrange for disposal when required. * Prepare pellets used for calibrating analytical curves via XRF. * Determine loss on ignition through gravimetric and thermogravimetric analysis. * Perform sieving and sample preparation for X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis. * Comply with and ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics, safeguarding compliance with ethical duties applicable to all employees. * Report to immediate leadership matters related to one’s area of responsibility, presenting and discussing problems and irregularities while proposing solutions to support the definition of procedures and actions to be adopted. * Perform related tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor. **Requirements** * Completed technical education in Chemistry, Mining, Biotechnology, or related fields. * Active CRQ registration.
