As a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in SQL Server, you will manage and maintain the SQL Server database system, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security. You will lead complex initiatives, guide junior DBAs, and serve as a technical reference. Your responsibilities include: * Installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server instances and databases (versions 2012 through 2022). * Developing, implementing, and managing Backup and Recovery strategies (Full, Differential, Transaction Log, Point-in-Time Recovery). * Implementing, managing, and troubleshooting High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions such as Always On Availability Groups and Transactional Replication. * Managing database security, including users, roles, permissions, and implementing features such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Data Masking, and Row-Level Security. * Configuring and managing SQL Server Auditing for security and compliance purposes (LGPD, GDPR/HIPAA). * Performing tuning and optimization of complex query performance by analyzing execution plans, using Query Store, and defining indexing strategies. * Managing and maintaining indexes (Clustered, Non-Clustered, Columnstore) and statistics. * Using diagnostic tools such as SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and DMVs to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. * Tuning I/O, CPU, and Memory to optimize SQL Server performance. * Optimizing TempDB configuration and usage. * Analyzing and resolving concurrency issues such as Locking, Blocking, and Deadlocks. * Developing complex T-SQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, CTEs, Dynamic SQL, and XML/JSON manipulation. * Developing PowerShell scripts for automation of administrative and maintenance tasks. * Creating, managing, and optimizing complex SQL Server Agent Jobs. * Administering cloud-based database environments (Azure SQL Database, SQL Server on VMs – IaaS, Managed Instances – PaaS) and hybrid environments. * Implementing and managing cloud-based Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies. * Using Azure Data Factory for data integration workflows. * Developing, deploying, and maintaining SSIS packages for data migration and transformation (ETL). * Implementing and managing Change Data Capture (CDC) and Change Tracking. * Implementing proactive monitoring of database health and health checks. * Using and managing third-party monitoring tools (e.g., Redgate, DataDog SentryOne, SQL Monitor). * Developing scripts for automation of maintenance tasks and alert creation. * Configuring, managing, and analyzing SQL Server audit and activity monitoring logs. * Implementing and managing database deployment automation (e.g., Flyway, Liquibase, Redgate). * Integrating database code management with version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, SVN). * Integrating and maintaining database deployments within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). * Providing technical leadership for database initiatives and projects. * Mentoring junior and mid-level DBAs. * Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation for the database environment. Basic requirements: * Proven experience (8+ years) in database administration, with specialization in SQL Server. * In-depth knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, and maintenance (versions 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2022). * Practical experience with Backup and Recovery strategies. * Advanced knowledge of SQL Server security. * Experience with compliance requirements (LGPD, GDPR/HIPAA). * Mastery of Performance Tuning. * Experience with performance diagnostic tools: SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs. * Knowledge of I/O, CPU, Memory tuning and TempDB optimization. * Experience troubleshooting Locking, Blocking, and Deadlocks. * Proficiency in developing complex T-SQL. * Experience with cloud-based database environments. * Knowledge of Data Warehousing and integration with BI tools. * Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps, SVN).
