The Data Scientist will work within the Security Operations Center (SOC) to develop analytical models and data-driven solutions that enhance the capability to detect, respond to, and prevent security incidents. Playing a key role in transforming large volumes of log, alert, and event data into actionable insights to strengthen our customers’ security posture. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Data Analysis: Collect, process, and analyze large volumes of security-related data—such as system logs, event records, network traffic, and authentication data—to identify suspicious or anomalous activities. * Threat Modeling: Develop statistical models and machine learning algorithms to identify threat patterns, malicious behaviors, and hacker activities—including intrusion detection models, user behavior analytics, and prediction of potential attacks. * Anomaly Detection: Design anomaly detection systems capable of identifying deviations from normal system and user behavior, helping to identify threats in real time. * Trend Identification: Analyze historical data to identify trends in cyberattacks and develop proactive defense strategies. * Tool and Dashboard Development: Create customized tools and visualization dashboards to monitor and present security information clearly and concisely for security analysts. * Incident Response: Collaborate with the incident response team to analyze security incidents, identify the nature and impact of attacks, and provide insights for mitigation. * Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources—including server logs, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools—to obtain a comprehensive view of the security posture. * Development and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with security analysts and other team members to continuously develop and refine data analysis techniques and threat detection strategies. * Communication: Translate data analysis results into clear, understandable insights for the security team and organizational leadership to support informed risk mitigation decisions. * Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest trends in cybersecurity, data analysis techniques, and threat detection tools to continually adapt security practices and strategies. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Education:** * Bachelor’s degree completed (or in progress) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. **Technical Knowledge/Skills:** * Knowledge of cybersecurity and fundamental SOC principles. * Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or other languages used in data analysis and machine learning. * Familiarity with data analysis tools such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, etc. * Understanding of statistical analysis techniques. * Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, common threats, and attacks. * Knowledge of network protocols and common vulnerabilities. * Experience in Data Analysis. **Additional Information** **Our Benefits:** Hapvida, Bradesco, or Unimed health insurance plan (applicable per region); Hapvida Odonto or Bradesco Dental dental insurance; Meal or food allowance; Life insurance fully covered by the company; Transportation allowance; TotalPass; Pharmacy discount program; University partnership discounts; Corporate Education Platform; Welcome Kit for newborns; Moodar platform.
