Responsibilities and Duties: "Ensure effective medication dispensing to residents through team management and by developing and applying safe techniques aligned with the institution’s clinical and economic care plan. Define, standardize, and control medical supplies and medications used in the unit, including mapping utilized items, participating in committees, and proposing new materials considering technical and financial scope. Organize and monitor pharmacy-related activities and routines, ensuring operational continuity. Oversee logistics for distribution of medications and supplies within the unit, monitoring storage, distribution, transportation to dispensing and administration, ensuring appropriate medication handling. Supervise routine tasks including verification, storage, inventory control, separation, individualization, and distribution of medications. Check expired medications and their proper disposal. Conduct periodic reviews of medication and supply inventories, requesting replenishment from the procurement department as needed to ensure safe and continuous supply to residents. Ensure medication dispensing and separation procedures are properly executed and verified to guarantee accurate release. Manage inventory and receipt of invoices for purchased medications and supplies, as well as submission deadlines for invoices to the company’s tax department; Maintain records in the medication control logbook as required by Ordinance No. 344/98; Provide technical guidance regarding medications to physicians and nurses when non-conformities are identified in prescriptions and/or requests from other professionals, thereby enhancing the multidisciplinary team’s knowledge; Facilitate dispensing of pharmaceutical supplies to residents and verify unadministered medications with nursing staff. Participate in all activities related to technovigilance and pharmacovigilance; Assess drug interactions and potential adverse reactions, and discuss necessary prescription changes with the medical team; Guide staff on medication usage, dosage, storage, dilution, and side effects; Ensure quality assurance of pharmaceutical products and services by evaluating registered pharmaceutical suppliers and formally notifying them of non-conformities while informing the unit manager and Clinical Coordinator. Perform technical evaluation of prescriptions applying clinical pharmacy principles and analyzing drug interactions to minimize medication-related problems. Control disposal of products and materials; participate in environmental and patient protection initiatives. Verify product origin, establish storage criteria, subdivide products, and collaborate in defining distribution logistics. Provide technical support to pharmacy assistants and the multidisciplinary team, instructing on medications and related products. Monitor daily entry and exit of psychoactive medications, recording them in the controlled substances logbook per current sanitary legislation; Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and discussions concerning treatment protocols and other service-related topics; Assist in patient billing closure, providing data to support monthly revenue reporting.
