We seek an individual to serve as a **Senior Occupational Safety Engineer**, responsible for **ensuring operational excellence** through performance analysis, identification of improvement opportunities, and implementation of technical and strategic solutions aimed at maintaining the mineral processing plant and motor fleet — thereby increasing reliability and availability while reducing costs; implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company’s management systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Conduct analysis and assessment through regular inspections in operational areas to identify potential risks to workers’ safety and health;
* Analyze occupational safety and health data to identify trends and develop risk mitigation strategies;
* Develop and implement Safety Programs through specific policies, procedures, and safety programs tailored to mining operations;
* Coordinate the implementation of occupational safety and health management systems, such as OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001;
* Promote educational campaigns on workplace safety, ergonomics, and healthy practices;
* Perform supervision, monitoring, and auditing to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulatory standards;
* Conduct detailed investigations of incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions;
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mining engineers, geologists, and operational managers, to integrate safety practices into daily operations;
* Maintain ongoing communication with regulatory authorities and external auditors regarding compliance and continuous improvement matters;
* Maintain detailed records of incidents, training sessions, inspections, and other safety-related activities;
* Prepare periodic reports on occupational safety and health performance, highlighting areas for improvement and successes.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Engineering or other Engineering disciplines with specialization in Occupational Safety;
* Knowledge of Regulatory Standards (NRs) applicable to mining and occupational safety and health management systems;
* Prior experience working in mining occupational safety management;
* Experience conducting internal and external safety audits;
* Active registration with the relevant professional council;
* Knowledge of occupational hygiene;
* Knowledge of occupational safety activities in underground mining;
* Valid driver’s license (Class B);
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
* Knowledge of Power BI.
* Solid knowledge of NR\-22 and other applicable NRs.
* Experience in critical risk management and accident investigation.
* Field experience (industrial/mining operations).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with tailings dams.
* Certification in OHSAS 18001 and/or ISO 45001.
* Intermediate or advanced English proficiency.
* Familiarity with analytical tools (Bowtie, HAZOP, FMEA).
* Experience driving light vehicles in underground mining;
* Minimum 8–10 years of experience preferred, preferably in mining.
